Really hoping we see more countries following Belgium and the Netherlands. They've outlawed loot boxes/gambling in games.

For a while I played TF2 Mann Up mode quite a bit with very good players. The end result of which was collecting numerous "Australium" (golden) weapons which could be re-sold on Steam's marketplace for sums in excess of hundreds of dollars. It quickly became a perpetual motion machine; people would pay more for an item than it cost me to procure. Even now a strange golden frying pan is selling for >$5K which raises some interesting psychological questions. A parallel I see in crypto when irrational exuberancy really takes off.

They are designed to target the pleasure centres of the brain, just like Vegas one armed bandits. Disgusting that they are aimed at kids.

It is 100% built to pump us for money. The veneer of not 'having' to pay for 'core' stuff is sooo bullshit. I like games like Path of Exile who only have cosmetic stuff you can pay for. If you don't care about that stuff you aren't penalised in the game at all.

One of the major devs for Diablo Immoral came out hot about misinformation etc. Then had to dance on the head of a pin about how the pay to win stuff is linked to the non-pay to win. The sad thing is everyone seems to think the game is legit good. Get this, some of the stuff you buy can actually get downgraded (or lost) if you aren't logging in frequently enough... and by enough I think it was something like needing daily logins.

@Kirwan MSFS? Pretty good, some of the flight models feel very accurate. I've spent a fair bit of timme flying around in a (paid for) RAF Hawk, pretty good. The guy in the vid is ex RAF pilot, Hawk instructor, so much more stick time than me! He is praises the accuracy. The Hawk is cool, cos it's old fashioned, dials and stuff, and very little to learn. But still a 500 knot jet, fun to blast around the southern alps etc

Awesome. I’ve played these since 1990ish, when the buildings were yellow blocks.

Have no idea how realistic the flying is.

It's a pretty amazing game, and the mods you can get are increasing. Real time weather pretty special too

I remember playing this on green screen on my mates dad's accounting computer. Awesome, and frustrating!

I've put a few hours into Call of Duty Modern Warfare II now and apart from a noticeable decrease in reaction time, it's entertaining as usual.

Plenty of issues as you'd expect in a big budget, multi console/ PC game. But occasionally it's a bunch of fun.

This is a fantastic game that I play with the boys.

I’ve actually improved and can sneak a couple of wins with Boba Fett against them. Getting in close with the flamethrower punches can actually cause the Jedi characters all sorts of problems.

They’re hoping that an update comes out with all the newer characters. Mando, Fennic, Cara, Greef, Ashoka etc which would be great fun.

@MN5 I think your boys will be disappointed, as even SWBF 2 isn't supported anymore!

He downloaded "Swordsman" which is fairly basic on the graphics front, but is a helluva lot of fun.

It is the perfect game for 16yo D&D-playing me.

@NTA It's fucken cool right. This is my first proper time trying VR and it's awesome. Played a few demos (Star Wars, Horizon etc.) and purchased Kayak.

Only problem for me is that I played the Kayaking game for about 15 minutes and started to get the cold sweats and thought I was going to vomit.

I love it but might have to sell it if I can't get used to the motion. Will try a few other games (Drums Rock, Swordsman) and see how it goes.
