Great try by NZs replacement hooker! Apart from the scrum, NZ is playing reasonably well.

Barrett misses the conversion. NZ leads 36-24 after 60 minutes.

Great team try scored by Umaga-Jensen. NZ gradually widening the gap with the Aussies.

Some great passing by the NZ players and a good run by U-J.

41-24 NZ

that is just sublime passing and support play there. With a better scrum they would blow away any team U20 playing as they're playing in that 2nd half

Another good team try, scored by Tomkinson. Apart from the scrum, there's not really much to worry about. NZs attacking game is spot on.

Barrett converts and it's 48-24 to NZ with 4 minutes to play.

That 5th place is in the bag.

Awesome try by the NZ replacement halfback to finish the game! Converted by Barrett.

Full time: NZ 55, Australia 24.

Apart from that one loss against Ireland, NZ has won all their games. It's a pity that that doesn't get them further than 5th place, but overall I don't think this has been a bad tournament for NZ. They've played well most of their games (especially the last few games), the only exception being the scrum. Nothing to worry about for the future, well, not much anyway.

You know how the Irish pack blew us away. They are getting done by the English. The English 9 & 13 look brilliant players.

A good final, home team in the driving seat. England continue to churn out very good u20 teams: skills, pace, strength and awareness throughout this squad. Harry Mallinder must be one of the biggest units to play 10 in an England shirt.

I hadn't realised that England's wing/fullback Matt Gallagher is the son of John Gallagher, of AB fame.

England win 45-21. It's been a good day (a good fortnight, really) to be an English fan.

Found a good interview with Gallagher - even though he came back home to spawn, he remains loyal to the black.

Small sample size, but Umaga-Jensen looked like he should have been there from the start.

Just watched the highlights- a great day for English rugby. Dare I saw the best since 2003.

i thought the team was on the small side, until I discovered that our no. 10 is 6 foot 4 and 17 st (108kg) made everyone else look small!

Gee that Aussie No8 had hopeless control at the back of the scrum. Cost his team so many points.

It maybe we just back wheeled too fast for him.

The Aus penalty try was lucky IMO as I reckon he also lost it on that occasion.

On scrums. Gee. Just wrote a long post but deleted it. This is definitely not the thread for a kiwi to complain about current scrum rules and all the unintended consequences.

Watched the try highlights of the final. Looked a good game.

I hadn't watched any of the non-NZ games, so much sport on this month .... I assumed England were a bigger, technically sound team than most of the other youth teams here. But, they can play. Some excellent tries.

Looking good for England.
