Star Wars VII ****contains spoilers****

I'm enjoying the more adult and in depth view of the SW Universe.
Just things like watching TIE pilots getting into their craft and launching in a far more realistic way than the quick run and gun we have seen before was pretty cool.
It certainly isn't OG Star Wars in the adventure serial sense, that I get, but SW has built a whole EU over decades and it is big enough to handle a few different treatments.
This is not a series that Hasbro are going to cash in on (or even Lego, although Mon Mothma's car would be cool). It is a drama first and foremost.

That last episode was so tense, was a great slow burn.
The most Star Wars aspect of it was the "lived in" feel of all the tech, everything was dirty and felt real. Excellent acting across the board too.
Enjoyed this a lot.

Easily the best part of the show.

I do understand the more “basic” side of stuff and the need for change but it just needs to be a bit more Star Warsie for me.
No Droids, No Aliens ( apart from four arms at the end )….this doesn’t do it enough for me overall.
The characters are real enough and very “gritty” but not particularly memorable.
The tie fighter scene was good but maybe only compared to the dreariness that came before it ?
Anyway, looks like they’ve finally left Scotland, Coruscant looks like it might provide some fun adventures. Here’s hoping.
-
Caught up on Andor, and aside from the tie fighters, it was just pretty much a scifi heist movie.
I did think it was a decent watch and will be interesting to see where they take it.
But needed more Adria Arjona
-
@taniwharugby Have you seen Good Omens as she is in that series too? I hope we haven't seen the last of Adria.

@MN5 Droid alert, and Adria.
Droids,aliens,stormtroopers…..
An episode that takes away most of his moaning factorsYep definitely a massive improvement.
So……
##spoiler
I’m slightly confused as to how one minute he’s catching up with the woman who raised him then he’s taken off to the resort looking place to shack up with, well, who is she ?
Seemed like a flashback almost ?
Those big K2SO droids are pretty menacing, great to see them again.
Also what was up with the strange chat with the Scout trooper, what exactly does he think Andor is a part of ?

@MN5 ##spoiler
A man has needs. He was just hooking up so where.
As for the trooper. He was just being an asshole to show how the Empire loves power hungry assholes.
##endspoilerYeah fair enough, always good to see a new planet too, it just felt like a strangely paced scene overall.

##spoiler
I think the key SWU explanation in that episode was how the start of the rebellion actually goaded the Empire into showing its true colours and intentions. Instead of just being seen as hardline governers with security forces they are now seen by all as oppressors.
That will bring the likes of Andor fully onside to supporting insurgence and increase the underlying population support.

I also like how the presence of a single trooper ( he had his mates nearby but still…..) can create tension as opposed to Boba/Mando/Fenwick or whoever mowing down 20 of them. Also cool to see the Star Destroyer flying overhead and marvelling at how massive it was.
The Rise of Skywalker was a bit ridiculous with a horde of those much, much bigger Star Destroyers. The originals shouldn’t have been tampered with in my opinion apart from DVs massive one in TESB.

I won't spoiler this as it doesn't spoil any plot points.
A couple of things that may be coming although this show seems to be avoiding obvious links to other stories.- that Star Destroyer we saw may be our first sighting of the Chimaera (Thrawn's flagship) before Thrawn was a Grand Admiral.
- you would think that we should see an appearance of Bail Organa at some stage (and, if on Alderan then maybe the droids and Leia in the background

How old would Leia be at this stage? If it's 5 years before Rogue One and her age was the same as Carrie Fishers when she played the role then she'd be early teens? Eek, they might just use that same actress who look sway younger than she is again.

14-15 or so. I don’t think they’ll shoehorn her into another show though.
I’d love to see some Moff Tarkin in one form or another. Awesome bad guy.
I’ll watch again but pretty sure that was just a bog standard Star Destroyer. They look heaps more impressive lower to the ground next to trees, birds etc rather than the emptiness of space.
God bless whichever nerd did this pic.
