There's no such rule? It was what I was taught when I tried to play in like 3rd form.
Arguing rules are dumb if you don't like them can be done for any sport.

No such rule. Unless you mean the rule that you can't bounce it with both hands at the same time (double dribble - god knows why you'd ever do this anyway) , or where you stop dribbling and pick the ball up then dribble again (kinda like a double movement in rugby, also a double dribble).
Totally agree the 2nd point, every single sport has this. Don't get me started on "verticality" in basketball!
Doesn't stop us from arguing that some are dumber than others though. These are important debates we have, we are doing important work

Yeah that. It's as dumb as contact on the ball (which so many umpires at lower levels don't understand and makes me grumpy). Contact on the ball only occurs where the defender initiates contact, if the attacking player brings the ball into your hand it's contact with the ball.

Nah, the one go at dribbling makes sense, whole defensive schemes are designed to get the ball out of someone's hands. You can always pass then get it straight back. Have a go, reset if need be.
Contact on the ball is infuriating. Some chick gets to taunt you by holding the ball right in front of your face, and you can't grab it?? That's some BS!

What a stupid sport it is. I can actually handle watching it, but I have to block out the fact that the rules are just completely idiotic. They took a great game in basketball, and decided they'd impose a heap of stupid rules (contact on the ball, wtf???) to invent a new female-friendly game. For what? Daft.
I don't understand the love for basketball. Such a boring game that you could literally just take the last five minutes and watch that.

You ever tried "encouraging" a teenage girl? I relegated myself to scorer so I didn’t "encourage" loud enough to be "embarrassing "...
Speaking of scoring.
I scored the other day for my sons cricket game. Fuck me, I'd forgotten how much you have to concentrate. Absolute nightmare. Made half of it up in the end.
Live scoring a kids match electronically is quite stressful as well, as everyone can see your mistakes on the electronic scoreboard!

When I played GA or GS, I would do "layups". They're more like finger rolls, basically just jumping put-backs.
I think the rule against dunking might be touching the rim being banned? Not that it really matters...
My daughter plays, I watch and enjoy it cos she's playing. I can even watch the pros play. Doesn't stop me from the realisation that many of the rules are daft

You can dunk (of sorts) in netball but you have to do it without hitting the goal post or it will be a free pass to the other team.
I like playing netball but it’s a frustrating game to watch. I only watch the Ferns vs Oz because any chance to beat Oz at something I will watch.

The worst thing about playing netball is the bias that the umps have against us fullas. So much contact initiated by the sheilas called as penalties against us poor male victims.
