Zimbabwe beating Pakistan shows that anyone can beat anyone in T20s. And they were one of the favourites.

Pakistan rely very heavily on Babar Azam. If he doesn't fire they tend to struggle. I'd be interested to see stats where if he scores less than 15, how often to Pakistan actually win? Azam is some player but the rest of their lineup is a bit fragile in comparison other than Rizwan who appears to be a T20 specialist.

@ARHS This time last year I was wondering if Pringle was on a path to eventual Black Caps honours.

I've since wondered if he'd decided on the Netherlands early on, or whether he made a pragmatic decision about his chances when the Netherlands came knocking. Either way, I guess I was surprised at the time the news broke.

Can they still change from Tier 2 to Tier 1?

Yes, no stand down period for him to change 'up' to a team he already qualifies for.

Aha, the move makes a lot more sense to me now.

The weather looks like turning much of this tournament into a bit of a lottery for those who luck into fine weather, and who can make the most of it for a game or two.

@Donsteppa ironically Sydney is not raining, so we should at least play tomorrow and hopefully put a gap on the rest

The weather is ugly. It’s not only raining but it’s turned cold too. I’m not sure the players will be charging out of the sheds to play

So if England vs Aus is abandoned this will help us no?

Depends I don’t want Aus getting any extra chance, historically if they lose early they come back hard, probably almost put money on them to win now

But can we trust England to put them away when it really matters? All they had to do was beat Ireland, and we were robbed a chance to lock down one spot by weather

Interesting game brewing Bangles v Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe lost 4 wickets early but a decent partnership brewing . 64/4 after 10 chasing 151.

26 needed off last 2. Settled partnership and best bowlers used up. Game nicely poised.

Chaotic scenes as 5 needed off last ball results in a stumping. Players shake hands and walk off.

3rd umpire rules keeper took ball in front of the stumps so its a no ball. 4 needed off 1 ball. Free hit.

Bangles held on and win by 3 runs. Only watched highlights and looked a fun match.

Now a heavyweight match with Proteas getting 5 wickets by the 11th over.

India now 5/84 after 13 overs.

India finish with 133. Lost another 4 wickets. Only one decent score with Surya getting more than half of that with 68 from 40. Next high was 15.

A tricky score on a Perth wicket that doesn’t have the sort of bounce that it did in that Aussie /Sri Lanka game. The dimensions of the ground aren’t conventional either. But India will need to bowl extremely well to defend this score.

So looking at the table, one more win and we're through it seems

Australia have a shootout with England (and technically Ireland) to get NRR up to a level they qualify second.

6 teams in a pool. 5 matches each. Top 2 go through based on win/loss and then NRR.

Soooo, we should throw the match against England and back ourselves to beat Ireland - that way we kick the Aussies out of the tournament, and we will get SA instead of India in the semi.

Then we get a chance for redemption against the Poms in the final...

    Easy.............
