So looking at the table, one more win and we're through it seems

Australia have a shootout with England (and technically Ireland) to get NRR up to a level they qualify second.

    https://www.espncricinfo.com/series/icc-men-s-t20-world-cup-2022-23-1298134/india-vs-south-africa-30th-match-group-2-1298164/points-table-standings

Soooo, we should throw the match against England and back ourselves to beat Ireland - that way we kick the Aussies out of the tournament, and we will get SA instead of India in the semi.

Then we get a chance for redemption against the Poms in the final...

    Easy.............

It's not the Kiwi way. Besides, knowing our luck it would backfire on us

Correct, the BC way is to have a meltdown and lose anyway. I like the idea of it coming before the final.

              Crunched some quick numbers earlier.

And at worst, with the exception of Ireland and Afganistan both winning both their matches (and we lose to England), NZ will be 2nd equal in the pool and it will come down to NRR to determine if NZ advance.

BTW if AFG and IRE do win both they go to 6 and 7 points (or maybe 7 and 6 can't remeber). We stay on 5 (if we lose to ENG). Probably reasonable odds available on that.

Wow that was the most spectacular and skillful dropped catch I have ever seen. What an athlete the Irishman Mccarthy is. Six to Stoinis 999 times out of 1000 - but not this time. Go Ireland.

Gilly looking at ground staff at the ready ...

Not too much on the radar.

Light misty stuff a fair way out West. Shouldn't be an issue.

Ireland aren't as awful as I'd expect them to be.
