@NTA you use productivity apps on your phone? Fuck that.
Agreed. It is not often, but I can use them on my phone with Google and not have them be restricted on other platforms.
TBH I had to look up the Apple versions of Docs and Sheets because I had no idea if they even existed

I'm now looking for a tablet/ laptop and leaning towards a Surface, but the options suck. An Intel i7 equipped version with 32GB of RAM only comes with a 1TB drive - a function I don't need when everything is cloud based. So it's 16GB only.
I had a Google Nexus 7 back in the day which was quite good. When that started to get shit I got a Samsung Galaxy Tab-A - you're right about the bloatware, which is another reason I detest the Samsung UI besides the stupid long-touch options. However for basic stuff I can tolerate it.
There is a Pixel tablet in the works apparently. https://www.tomsguide.com/news/google-pixel-tablet

Nobody uses them and if you really, really need to view/change a spreadsheet on your phone there is an Excel app.
I just use whatever I need to for work. If it is a 365 environment then that's cool. All apps available if I need them.
These days with virtual desktops and/or cloud based apps the hardware doesn't really matter. -

I waited long enough for the vapourware that is the rumoured Google Watch.

No, I don't feel at all stupid.

TBH not sure about the styling. Got the Boy one of these and it is pretty good for $599 - being fully aware it is Samsung. But it has the whole WearOS thing and a rotating bezel.

one of those weird coincidences
Both Mrs Womble and I have garmin fitness tracker bands (Garmin Vivosmart 4 if you want to look it up), have full spart watches too but use the band most of the time so i can wear a "proper" "nice" watch on the other wrist
anyway, the little sticker on the back of Mrs Wombles band that has the serial number etc peeled off after a year and a half....the NEXT DAY...the thing shat itself...contact garmin and the first question is whats the serial number...bloody typical

greta deal for black friday anyone looking for wireless headphones
-
-
@Stargazer i have the ones i just posted and havent had any issues, theyre light and site largely in the ear so dont have a mass hanging outside dragging it down and out of the ear
there is also the model down that looks very similar
-
@Kiwiwomble Thanks, it looks like Elite 4 is more suitable for Android than Elite 7. Still a bit on the price though, but I've no idea what is cheap and what is expensive when it comes to earphones.
-
@Stargazer i've seen non brand ones for as cheap as $20, so there is a huge range, hard too know whats best
-
@Kiwiwomble what controls do you have on the buds themselves? I've got Sony's and have them set to be able to RW/FF/Pause and the other ear for volume, but that means I lose on being able to set sound modes with a tap.

Any recommendations: best budget earbuds (preferably wireless) that don't constantly fall out of your ears? Mrs SG really has a problem with this and it's really annoying when exercising. I'd like to buy her new ones, but don't know which to buy.
I have the same issue. Nothing stays in my ears. It's either because I'm a sweaty bastard, or I run really fast.
I think it's the 2nd one.
Anyway, these have been awesome for the last couple of years. I don't use the controls at all, but the sound is great and they stay in place perfectly

My olds got some by Anker when they were over these ways which I thought were great (and very well priced) - came with loads of bud/wing options. But the old man found even those kept falling out and got another brand which apparently is much better - I'll try and remember to find out which.
-
I've got Google Pixel buds. They're great in every aspect I want, but they're not the most secure in my ears. This may not be a fault with the buds...

theyre the "sport" ones so apparently more water resistant, but means limited buttons,
right ear, one press = play/pause two press = next track and triple = restart
left ear, single = cycle through ANC/hearthrough, double = voice assitant, havent added anythign to the triple yet -
@Kiwiwomble yeah sounds pretty similar then.

My daughter has Nothing ear pods. Think sheβs pretty happy with them.

I'm looking at getting a new Samsung phone, the biggest question is do I go 128GB or 256? A quick look at my current phone shows me I have only used about a third of the 128GB internal memory and I've had it for at least 3 or 4 years. Removable memory is bugger all. I know it usually makes sense to go for more data, but in this case I don't think it's worth the extra money?

Unless your installing a lot of games or storing a heap of video, you don't need much. I'm pretty good at getting my stuff of the phone and into better storage tho
