That's some travel schedule. Just another way our aussie overlords try to fuck us

The 36ers had been in Auckland for a couple of days before last Sunday's game. The Breakers arrived home from Tassie at 3 am that morning for a 4 pm game.

the NBL schedule to start the season is horribly one-sided

The Breakers have obviously had it very bad

The Taipans have only had 3 home games

        Melbourne have already 8
        Sydney have had 5
        Perth have had 6

Most away games to start were the teams expected to be at the bottom

Getting in and out of Cairns is fucked as well. Teams even from Aus are having to make 2 flights.

Breakers were in control vs Cairns but fading down the stretch. Cairns with high energy on defence right now

Breakers come out of a timeout leading by one and explode for one steal and 8 points in 90 seconds on the back of heightened effort on D. Breakers now up 9 with 3 minutes to go. Wow

Breakers win by 11. The game could have gone either way but the boys came up with the goods and won comfortably in the end. Reinforcing their credentials as the league's best 4th quarter team improving to a 6-1 away record and 9-3 overall

Up and down game with a hell of a lot of turnovers. But the Breakers class of Brantley and Pardon shone through.

Taipans are a good team and play an uptempo style but Adam Ford needs to work out what he is going to do with McCall because they look a completely different team (for the worse) when he is out there. Trying way too hard and goes off the reservation too often.

And the loss was in OT to Melbourne in the first game.

I watched a replay of the game. It got close midway through the 4th Q before the Breakers hit some big shots. Both teams struggled with ball-handling. Humidity?

I think the Breakers got sloppy as Cairns turned up the defensive intensity, until we broke out again

Short turnaround from the Taipans game but no matter. The Breakers are beating down the Bullets right now, building a 25 point lead with 4 minutes in the 3rd quarter on the back of their trademark D and some hot shooting

No mercy rule at Spark this afternoon, with 4 minutes to play the Breakers have a 39 point lead and seem intent on putting the boot in. Bench flooded now

We got sloppy at the end of the 1st half and let them score about 8-10 points far too easily.

Was a good win though and great to see us get a good scoring game too. Brantley was massive and basically unguardable on the post.

fun night at the COnvention Centre last night as the Taipans leave it late to force overtime, then defend like champs to win it over the Kings

We live and die by the 3. Our scoring is Pinder inside or a 3-pointer. Last night Pinder was cooking, bet everyone they put on him, but the 3 was ice cold (at one point we got to 5 from 33 i think it was). So they doubled the fuck out of Pinder and our scoring stopped. We need to find more ways to get to the basket.

Xavier Cooks is really fucking good. Him fouling out in the 4th was probably the difference.

7-4 is a good spot to be in considering we have played Sydney and NZ so often. When do we get to play the shit teams? (Taipans history says we will lose to the shit teams)

Was a great game to watch.

Pinder was dominant. Got to the foul line 20 times. He’s never been a great FT shooter so finishing with 70% was damn good when attempting so many.

It became a real shootout in that 4th and agree Cooks fouling out was big and took away Sydney’s pick and roll option. Cooks just has time when he’s got the ball and whilst his 3pt shot is not yet a weapon, he does everything else at a very high level.

Nice to see DJ Hogg hit a couple of huge buckets, but Sydney didn’t play those high pick and rolls very well. Hunter was far too deep and should’ve been up to make DJ drive.

McCall was heaps better than the Breakers game, but he’s still a strange player in the Ford gameplan.

Another win for the Breakers over the Phoenix. Everyone was getting in on the scoring.

The schedule is really lopsided as this was the third and last time the Breakers play the Phoenix this season, before they've even played Perth.

What a win. I was a little worried about this game because the Phoenix usually can put on points. But man we were lights out. 10 3s in the first half was awesome.

Brown is so deceptive with his little rock back dribble and pull up. Phoenix defence had no answer.

They really overplayed out pick and roll game (which is the best in the league) so it opened up layups for our guards.
