I find it quite interesting that someone like Raymond Tuputupu has all of sudden vanished after performing strongly for the Hurricanes under 20s and NZ Under 20s this year, aswell as being rushed into the Hurricanes main side for one of their games earlier this season.
Does anyone know if he is injured, because he didn't appear for the Turbos either? I thought he would be next in line infront of both Leif Keil-Schwencke and Josh Southall for a Hurricanes dev spot, as they've only both played limited minutes.

That's very interesting. Without speculating too much maybe he picked up a serious injury.
Hopefully we see him back on the park soon.

He was reportedly spotted by Raiders scouts on a tour to Australia with the Junior Bati but was ultimately signed by the Eels.
In his time with RKS he was touted as one of the best finishers in recent years.
This is from the Roar site:Naiduki is the latest Fiji-born Parramatta winger. Naiduki was first scouted in 2018 by the Raiders when representing the Junior Bati as a centre, before a late three-year offer from the Eels secured his services.
Naiduki fits the prototype of the typical Fijian winger: athletic, quick, strong in contact and a good finisher.
Naiduki scored three tries in his six NSW Cup appearances last season and contributes handily when coming out of his own end, averaging 152 metres per game.
With Sivo injured to start the season, Naiduki looked to be likely to start on the wing in Round 1 until the recent signing of Bailey Simonsson.
He likely needs an injury to one of the starting wingers before a debut, and even then, he will still be competing with two-gamer Sean Russell for a spot.
Naiduki is no guarantee to play first grade this year but will not let anyone down if selected.ng to google, in 2021, he was a development player with the Eels; in 2022, he was a full squad member, but never cracked the senior playing side.

Just came across this: Manawatu will have two very good young hookers next year in Bason and Tuputupu.

Just came across this: Manawatu will have two very good young hookers next year in Bason and Tuputupu.
@Canes4life Very, very young, too. Bason signed straight out of school. Tuputupu one year out of school. Especially with forwards, their workload will have to be carefully managed.

He was one of three Poverty Bay players invited to attend the Hurricanes U18 Development Camp, two months ago.
He wasn't initially named in the Tūranga Tāne (Poverty Bay Development) team, but played at least one game for that team against Thames Valley Development, this year.
Not much else to find about him on google, except this:

Uhm, Wellington may have the largest representation in the Canes overall and in their forward pack, but the majority of Hurricanes forwards doesn't play for Wellington.

@kiwi_expat totally agree I fail to see why Mackintosh is actually there.
