But I can never understand how such well paid players can be so average at penalties.

I would just cut him from the team. You can only tolerate an ego if the player is indispensable which is no longer the case

Totally agree. I reckon with a couple of hours training 7 days a week I could routinely get the ball in the top square metre of either corner.

Mind you, golf says hello .....
