Something similar in the UK where you take a little gadget, scan your shopping in, tap your card on the gadget and walk out with your goodies. You use the checkout if you're buying alcohol or it's over £100.00

we made the mistake of going to a big shopping mall a couple of weeks ago to do xmas shopping
anyway, was in KMart (for those that dont know they have their counters in the middle rather than by the door)
a dad with little kid in tow walking out and the teenage girl manning the door asked to see his receipt, obviously frustrated he huffs and puffs and gets it out of the bag...before starting a tiny tirade about why the counters arent by the door.
Actually had to call him out as im pretty sure the teenager getting paid minimum wage to stand there for 8 hours during the xmas rush didn;t decide to put the counters in the middle rather than by the door, he stormed off while muttering about her being an official representative of the company
xmas brings out the worst in people

There's some Crimewatch faces right there. I did witness a family night out at an Italian restaurant go pear shaped once with a big punch up, chairs flying through the air and all. Some of the women screaming and others joining in. It was great entertainment and just far enough away not to be physically threatening.
