Proof that @MN5 is still a 10 yr old kid at heart. Andor is the best of these SW series for me.
I know what I like old fella. Would you like me to fetch your pipe and slippers ?
Trouble is that you keep wanting ANH level of kidult entertainment. Nothing wrong in that, it is probably my favourite movie ever because of that.
That ship will never likely be recreated. They tried hard with E7 (and with E1) and didn't come close.Meanwhile we have this amazing universe in which to tell stories and as much as some Mando eps are cool, no one has used the SW Universe really well until Andor IMO.

I agree and disagree. I meanā¦ā¦.Palpatines speech to Anakin was pretty darkā¦.would love to see a prequel and find out what went on thereā¦..I even have a title for it āPalpatine: Rise to Powerāā¦ā¦.
The overdid the fuck out of the kidult shit in the prequels. I hated Finn screaming āReeeeeeeeeeeeyā at the top of his voice. I hated Rose, I didnāt like Poeā¦ā¦..
Andor had a great finish which I appreciated but needed more action on the whole.

I remember seeing the first big battle involving Jedi in Attack of the Clones. I was absolutely shocked when a few of them got killed. Definitely not as invincible as I first thought.
As for J Fett shooting one dead single handedly. Wow, what a legend !

Indeed, Jar Jar is a pretty crap character but no way is he as bad as people would have you think. George Lucas to his credit took on board the feedback and he was pretty much never seen again.
Really? George Lucas was still pretty visible even after that terrible film. But he did admit it was bad...

I give Lucas a bit of latitude for TPM. It had been a long break and no one really knew what the reaction or audience was meant to be. He tried to cover all bases a bit much and the pressure on merchandising at the time was huge. Toys and video games were the big earner so you had to sacrifice story for kid friendly characters and set pieces that translated to gaming (eg pod racing).
Made the whole thing a bit of a mess by trying to please everybody. -

Made the whole thing a bit of a mess by trying to please everybody.I don't give him latitude for it, it's a giant turd. But Lucas is still a god amongst men for creating Star Wars and there's kids who grew up watching that era of Star Wars. That's their Star Wars.
Just as there's a whole bunch of kids who got into Star Wars via The Force Awakens. People forget how popular TFA was because of the hatred around TLJ. But it was huge, I saw it twice, once in the first week and once about a month later and the cinema was full both times.
I think it's good different generations can like "their" Star Wars although on a personal level I can't understand people liking the prequels.
Will have to do my all Star Wars (movies and TV) ranking sometime over the break - my top 2 and bottom 4 are already confirmed so just need to sort out the middle.
