So the goal today would be to score quickly without taking any risks or losing wickets.

If we can be say 200 up at the end of the day with 8-9 wickets in hand that would be an OK day.

I can’t see us making 638 to be 200 ahead.

Ball is starting to turn a bit more today. Still staying low.

Ominous signs for Pakistan if they have to hold out just to draw on day 5.

    Great 100 Tommy 13th test 100.
Batting becoming tough now, ball is keeping low unless it’s spinning out of the rough when it is leaping a bit.
Batting on this pitch in day 4 and 5 will be very very tough.

What we mustn't do is just survive without looking to push some runs.

Looks to me like eventually one will be unplayable and get you out. We need to keep the scoreboard ticking over.

Yep we have to stay positive it’s all about the runs not time. We do not want to just try to survive and be all out for 300 still trailing by 140 runs.

Actually on replay it didn't do much except spin in a little. KW a bit fortunate.

Fantastic batting by Mitchell great positive batting.
If he can get to 69 he will break Conway record of the fastest NZ to 1000 test runs.
This is Mitchell’s 18 th innings,Conway did it in 19 innings earlier today.

That's incredible. I would have put Conway well ahead of Mitchell, but in fact they are about equal in terms of runscoring.

Conway is no doubt a gun.But Mitchell has been really good for NZ since he got a shot.
4 hundreds and 5 50's in 17 innings before today and a average of 62.70

This is a good innings by Mitchell. Upped the scoring and put the pressure back on Pakistan. I suspect it won't last long but if he scores like this it doesn't have to last long.

Not sure why they are persisting with the fast bowlers.

Pakistan into negative mode now. Bowling round the wicket outside leg. Has dried up the scoring but doesn't look dangerous.

Actually he's a left armer so bowling over the wicket. Still pretty negative stuff but it is working to slow the scoring.
