@Nepia I listened to the podcast prior to watching the show, TBH I dont think I'd have watched it if I hadnt listened to the podcast.
I did it that way as well, and I probably wouldn't have watched it either. Luckily I had a decent gap between listening and watching.

apparently there is another Yellowstone/1883 series, Harrison ford and Helen Mirren, hell of a cast
-
Colin from Accounts - Aussie comedy built around a middle aged brewery owner who runs over a dog because he was distracted by med student flashing a boob in his face… and the subsequent interactions…
Quite funny and some real cringey episodes, enjoyed it more than I thought I would

Han Solo/Indiana Jones, James Bond, Serr Bronn of the Blackwater and that woman who used to show her tits all the time.
Sign me up for that shit !

Taylor Sheridan is going to milk this for as long as possible. I am watching the current season of Yellowstone at the moment but haven't got around to seeing 1883 yet.

I found Yellowstone entertaining to start with but then it seemed to descend into an unbelievable mix of Dallas, SoA and cowboys. 1883 much shorter and much better for it.

havent watched the latest season, 1883 and 1923 are both on paramount which i dont have, that shit pisses me off, a family of shows should all be on the same service
-
@Kiwiwomble Yeah, it's the same situation in NZ. I am watching Yellowstone on SoHo (Sky) but it is also on Neon (owned by Sky). 1883 and 1923 appear to be available on Prime.

Most Prime stuff ends up on Neon. Sometimes it goes straight there so is on both.

The English is great.

Based on, so embellished. But the core is very true, how the characters behave may not be as true, certainly how they talk is utter bullshit

@bayimports yeah liked it too.
Some great characters too...
@Machpants yeah I know most of these things are embellished for entertainment, but I gather most of the events occurred.

Yeah crazy stuff. Absolute nutters, like the LRDG (mostly kiwis) made it up as they went along, stole shit to get their gear, and in terms of degradation of enemy war making capability man for man nothing came close in the desert. Not anywhere near as effective in other theatres

Yeah I’ve just started watching this and agree. Have just finished the latest Jack Ryan series (S3) as well (v good); interesting that John Krasinki shows a different emotion to killing as Jack Ryan, than his wife does in The English.

1899 on Netflix
Started off quite well, but sorta stalled mid-season and meandered a bit, didnt quite hit the mark for me.
I've just finished watching this myself. Based on my experience with Dark I was anticipating plenty of twists and confusion. I certainly wasn't expecting that ending. There are plenty of questions still to be answered in S2.

Nope...been canned.
The Cleaner (S1) - quirky dark comedy about a guy who is a crime scene cleaner.
Some really funny shit.
