Matt Hayden, but he was superb.

    And a genuine Knob.

Genuine reasons or is it just cos he is Australian and a fucken brilliant player ?

Because I have to coach with him for 10 days of the year at the High performance centre at Albion.
And he gets pissed afterwards and makes a dick of himself.
Most people involved with Cricket here in QLD will say the same thing he is right up there with Michael Clarke as a major knob.

    Jeepers. Harsh call.

Oh well, next time you see him tell him I was in awe of his timing and power when I saw him batting up close in the nets at the Basin in 07. Amazing stuff.

Tell him that’s from MN5, if he reads the fern he’ll know who I am.

Ok I will tell him that don't think he reads the Fern if he does he will not be happy with me for calling him a knob, but I am safe, due to see him in January for a Australian u/19 High performance batting and fielding clinic.

I could tell you many stories about M Clarke.

    Bavuma in runout shock.... not.

Guy is fucking awful. Turned blind and then left his partner stranded.

The earlier runout was also terrible stuff.

They look like a lazy, disinterested, leaderless bunch. I expected more, but will take thrashing them as compensation.

When did SA become such bunnies?

7 innings without 200, and soon to be 8 innings.

Given Bavuma has managed to notch up more than 50 tests with a single ton and an average in the low 30s, they've been shit for a while now. NZ dropping a test to them at home was almost as embarrassing as dropping a test to the Bangles.

I wonder why their team is so poor now though. You'd think a country their size would have some talent coming through, even if a bunch of their players play for other nations.

I realise they're just in a rebuild right now but a few of those guys would struggle to compete at domestic level in many nations. Very ordinary attitude. Doesn't look like their back office is right if they don't even have a fulltime analyst.

Bavuma looks like he’d be right at home in the mid 90’s Black Caps top order…

One of the Saffers on radio commentary said that the rebuild was acknowledged but also their tendency to produce "spicy" home pitches of late was part of the issue.

Yeah, nah... flat deck for the most part. Just shit application.

Bavuma does have a crucial role in memes, if not with scoring centuries…

Big win for Australia. South Africa crushed. The Ashes Series set to be one of the sporting highlights of 2023.

Carey is such an enormous upgrade on Paine

(incidentally, where does a bog average cricketer with 35 tests get the unmitigated gall to release a book?)

All the more reason to get a book deal these days.

Average cricketer that could keep a bit. Made captain in controversial circumstances and not seen as a clear successor even from his most ardent fans. Struggled to stake his claim on the game, team struggles, constant whispers around camp of players “more deserving” being unhappy, and then throw in a sex scandal.

Will be in the $4.99 shelf of all good bookstores near you
