@Kruse it is topical.
Oh shit. That doesn't sound good.
But... I'm sure I'll suffer through it. It can't be any worse than the writing of 24, Strike Back, etc, can it?
Can it? -

Can it?Ban this fluffybunny, nothing beats the action tits combo that is season 2-5 of strike back, writing is irrelevant..sacrilege!

Speaking of Netflix.
Treason
Starring Charlie Cox (minus the cane and glasses) and Olga Kurylenko. An enjoyable 5-part spy thriller that doesn't tread any new ground but has enough twists and tension to be a good watch. The Witcher: Blood Origin
A big turd. Only 4 episodes so I didn't waste too much of my life. The Witcher is dead anyway now that Henry Cavill has walked away. Netflix can cancel that shit!Enjoying it so far. Olga is hot. So is the dudes wife.

In my defence, I never dissed Strike Back. The action/tits combo is fucking top-notch.
But the writing... is a wonderfully useful benchmark for comparison against other shit. -
Finally finished Parks and Rec tonight.
I don’t really know what to say, other than I’ll really miss having another episode ready to go when I need some quick light relief
I’m also midway through S2 of the series with my daughter which is great fun, she’s loving the quirkiness of it, and I can’t remember much of the early stuff as I watched so long ago , (ok, I can barely remember what happened this morning) - so it’s fun to rewatch
For those that haven’t watched, It’s really a great show, it just creeps up on you and becomes part of your life (there are a LOT of episodes). With such a benign storyline (hello The Office), it speaks volumes about the characters and the acting.
Can’t recommend enough, and will miss greatly

SAS Rogue Heroes. BBC 6 episodes. The story of how David Stirling formed the SAS during the Nth Africa Campaign in WW2.
Made by the guys who did Peaky Blinders.
Very entertaining. Good soundtrack. Well cast. 4.5 tonnes of sand in my orifice out of 5 don’t fuck with me’s
Finally got to see this. It's well cast, beautifully shot and as you say; very entertaining.
Buggered if I could get into it. Mind you only watched a couple of episodes and then decided not really my thing, son swears by it though.
Have to admit I not into many sreies at moment, prefer mini series (maybe summer thing?) and am real pro british shows especially in comedy etc, I like subtle type comedy etc. One I really enjoyed on Netfix (when I had it) a year or 2 back was The Detectorists, just my kind of humour, though not only kind I like.

Madoff: The Monster of Wall Street
4-parter on Bernie Madoff, the level of corruption on Wall St and the incompetence of the regulators. At the end, you keep asking the question of ow he was able to get away with the fraud for so long.
does it get better? because i watched Ep1 and thought it was weak as piss. And i loooove a financial fraud doco
I guess maybe because a Ponzi scheme is really basic so they gotta pad it? But by god there was a lot of "character" stuff. and then they just moved quickly through him getting busted and away with it the first time in like 3 minutes.

this feels like a slur. and a personal attack
because if it is...

@taniwharugby Glad I not abnormal and a few of us can enjoy same humour.
Just a quetion (maybe showing my age) did anyone watch 'Au Vedersein Pet', back in 90s, was one of my favourite programs, actually have all series on videos Mrs Dan bought me a few years back. Loved the characters and also when I first got into Timothy Spall as an actor, have liked all his stuff as a rule. -

The series wasn't just about the the simplicity of the fraud for me, it was the way he got away with it despite there being years of warnings, and the impact it had on people's lives - and why he did it.
I found his Jekyll & Hyde character fascinating - scrupulously honest on the market-making side and and outright theft from day one on the investment side - and thought that was explored well in the series, along with the fuck-ups by the SEC.

@Victor-Meldrew alright cool I'll finish it
