Got to agree Mokey, also Susan Sarndon ain't all that. She plays the same person in pretty much everything shes in, Robyn Malcolm is our version of her. Outstanding rack back in her day though [ Sarandon not Malcolm].

We had this conversation about Deborah Harry, I can get that chicks I used to like when I was younger are now in their 50s ( case in point Diane Lane on the previous page ) but no way I can perve at someone who is quite literally my Mums age.

The Equalizer. Basically Denzel Washington being badass and handing the Russians their collective asses right to the end where he easily accounts for the two top dogs. No plot twists or anything, just Denzel fucking shit up all the way through, which in fairness was enjoyable enough.

I used to be a Sandler fan, but I stcik to what I know is good (Happy Gilmore, Big Daddy, Water Boy and a few others around that time) which means to pretty much avoid anything he has done the past 10 years or so

It was there. Like a wrapped Christmas choc you find and think, well, surely it won't be that bad, it's choc.

I guess a part of me still clings to the Sandler of The Wedding Singer, The Waterboy, Happy Gilmore etc. But it is very very clear that Sandler was abducted by a particularly cruel and perverted alien race and swapped for one of their own.

Lethal Weapon 2 is fucking great.

Martin Riggs is one of my favourite movie characters. Patsy Kensit is hot and gets the girls out. South Africans are the bad guys.

Watched Terminator 2 again last night. Still absolutely brilliant. Arnie on top form. Probably his finest work.

The Terminator series has more holes in the plot than swiss cheese ( I hated what happened to John Connor in the latest one ) but who cares, T1, T2 and T4 ( yes I really liked the Christian Bale one ) are fucken magnificent.

In terms of Arnies best work he was equally brilliant in Commando, Running Man, Predator and Kindergarten Cop in my opinion. He should have left "Maggie" well alone though. Arnie and Zombies, what could go wrong you say ? Every fucken thing in that borefest of a flick that's what.......

Maggie wasn't really an Arnie style movie TBH.

Is interesting you hear most movies that deal with time travel talk about the effects of meeting themselves, and yet in the latest Terminator, weren't they doing stuff at a time that pre-dated T1s time travel that made everything possible? Was mental.

Yeah the big fella tried to branch out and failed miserably with that one. It was a fucken terrible flick, imagine how bad it would have been if he wasn't even in it ? Some guys are film stars and genuine icons ( him, Clint, Sean Connery, Harrison Ford, Sly Stallone etc ) but are well advised to not vary their roles too much and in terms of being "actors" aren't a patch on De Niro, Pacino, Sean Penn, Gary Oldman etc. I "like" Arnie on FB and he does some quite funny vids, workout and motivational stuff mainly....he's bad with women obviously but for a Superstar is quite humble and can laugh at himself ( he did Twins and Junior after all )

I kinda enjoyed the latest Terminator flick how they went to the 80s and 90s but they've just made it far too convoluted now ( I'm sure there'll be yet another sequel )

Travolta would be well down the list for these roles now sadly, although he should do a stand alone one to see if he can take off again.

Denzel can do these in his sleep and still be better than pretty much anyone out there.

I've been wanting to see the expendables version of this for ages: Denzel, Keanu, Liam and Sean Penn from the Gunman can all band together to fuck up Russian Gangster, Albanian people trafficers and dodgy spies!

I think my point is I've seen so many bullshit action flicks.......you know, Liam, JT, Denzil or whoever being good family men then some shit goes down and in a completely unremarkable twist we learn they used to be CIA/Special forces or some shit. Cue some unrealistic fights, quips about age and the good guy emerging victorious. Yawn.

if someone did some of that stuff to my family, I'd absorb all the SF and CQB knowledge I'd seen in the movies and go all medi-evil on people, aint that far form reality!

I was just this minute on the phone with someone in Auckland and trying to work out where they were by the sounds in the back ground, just in case!

Watched Prometheus for the first time in awhile and on my own which I think helped me understand it a bit more. I really enjoy this flick but it shits me that overall it could have been so much better.
I think it helps reading a few essays online about it, basically some nerds have the theory that the first "engineer" at the start who commits suicide did so to create "life" on earth ( in fact lots of people kill themselves for the greater good in the flick ) and the reason why they were on a mission to earth was to wipe mankind out cos we had gone bad ( there's an analogy with the killing of Christ which they didn't like hence the mission to kill us )

It's a bit up on the air what they were running from in the holographic images but the theory is that it was some early strand of the "Alien" we all know that had gone bad and infected them all.....in terms of why the sole surviving Engineer kills Weyland, and messes up David and the crew I think that was cos he viewed David ( an android ) as an affront to them ( they can create life after all ) and flew into a rage and killed them.

I'm still hanging out for a sequel to hopefully explain stuff a bit more, I love the Alien series but this was a let down overall.

6 Xenomorphs out of 10 Engineers
I didn't mind Prometheus, it looked amazing.

My main question after was
why did they leave a map on a cave that led only to a fucking chemical weapons factory?
