Glass Onion: A Knives Out mystery
Only half way through this as the girl kept falling asleep on the couch. Will finish it tonight.
Awesome fun so far, Daniel Craig is so good against Bond “type”, Edward Norton is great as a smarmy rich dickhead, Bautista still amazes me as a wrestler turned actor and Kate Hudson is HAF ( why have I never notice before )
Definitely recommend ( but the ending might be shit for all I know )
Are you blind? She was hawt in almost famous. She has those bedroom eyes
Don't get me wrong, objectively Kate Hudson is very attractive, but she's never done anything for me. I personally don't find her HAF and find her to be quite an annoying screen presence.
In saying that I thought this role was perfect for her as her character fit how I find her.
@MN5 Good movie, well worth a watch, although there's a chance that they portray the bassist incorrectly and you might hate it.
I got past that bit and coped.
100% on Hudson, she’s never done it for me until now. Apt description of all her previous work

Shawhank Redemption
Was on TV last night. It's not aged at all (I guess it can't given when it's set), the acting and story are still utterly compelling and superb.
Only silly thing was that Mrs MR had not seen it (WTF!!!) ... and half way through looked up the ending on her phone. Unbelievable.

I’ve seen it on Neon or Netflix, definitely keen to rewatch.
Always nice when a classic you haven’t seen for years re emerges.

Barbarian
Started well, then descended into something pretty stupid as SO many horror movies of that ilk do.
A few genuine scares, some tits ( @Kruse even you might not like them though )…….
Again, without giving too much away it’s weird how living in basements your whole life apparently makes you stronger than Eddie Hall, The Mountain and Brian Shaw combined. I’m surprised more pro athletes don’t do it.

I think the link to Goldie Hawn has something to do with it. Definitely tainted by that.

@Stockcar86 disappointed they didn't throw in a cuckoo clock reference. Otherwise looks awesome

All other filmmakers may as well give up. We have our winner for 2023 already.

Medieval.
Ben Foster, who you will recognise from playing the bad guy or the tragic best friend, showing here that he does not have the charisma to carry a film as lead. Showing on Netflix I think, I get muddled up with all these streaming services that seem more and more alike as they descend into mire of poorly made zombie and fantasy dross. Sorry, but I Lee Grant. Back to the film.
It is the story of Jan Zizky a Czech (Bohemian) hero of long ago. By all accounts an incredible military commander and one of the most influential Europeans during the time of the Holy Roman Empire, which sadly was not covered in my history curriculum at school.
Anyway the film. Instead of telling anything of the real story, they made him a Robin Hood type figure, with a tragic and less than believable love interest. Some good-ish action scenes, little in the way of coherent plot and a phone it in performance from Michael Caine (one of many I know).
Tit watch: a brief view of some unleavened baps during a mild rape scene.
Not a film to make you keep the subscription going.
