Indian cricketers take a lot of shit for being dickheads, but to a man, they shook Bracewells hand at the end full of smiles and respect for what he almost did.

The players are fine, it’s the fans that are the dickheads

Most of the Cricket lovers in India are great,I have done 4 stints coaching in India at Academies and the Fans are fanatical but they really do treat you like Gods.
Even the people I had cleaning my Room at the Hotel where awesome I would come back to Find my towels made into a animal of some kind Always puts a smile on my face.
But it is a Terrible classed society the average worker gets treated like shit by the Rich no matter how hard they work.
Going from one end on the city to the other from Ferraris,Lambos and women dripping in diamonds to People living on the medium strips on card board.
Great country some only have cricket and nothing else,
Dickheads every where I guess but the average Indian in India at least I find great, the ones living in Australia not so much.

Yeah very much a sweeping generalisation. I’m sure heaps of them are absolutely awesome.

It’s the ones that blindly wank on about Kapil Dev being so hard done by cos he had to bowl in Indian conditions and ignore the fact his record is actually better at home than abroad that irk me.

I know I run into a lot here in Brisbane through Cricket and they are mostly Rich privileged and virtually demand things because of who they are.

I've done two trips to India, the first in 2009 and the second in 2015. I had the same experience; the poor were treated horribly by the rich but their love for cricket is obvious almost everywhere you look.

I have a fond memory with my old man on our first trip over there. We visited a village in Jodhpur armed with cricket bats and balls because the locals literally had nothing. The kids were overjoyed, the parents not so much as it ended up being a massive distraction when it was time for them to do their homework.

As a country, I love India and there is something so majestic about the place, but it definitely has its demons.

Yep that sums up India great place to visit,And if you are involved in Cricket over there it is amazing.
I saw a lot of joy over there through my cricket involvement and some sad things I will never forget that burned into my soul a bit.

I did 2 stints in Hyderabad at the Hyderabad Academy loved the place apart from the man made lake in the middle the Sulpher was a bit much at times and 2 in Mumbai Academy a beast of a city.
Scary trying to get across any road in Mumbai but loved the Tuk Tuk rides better than a rollercoaster.

How is Young not even in the squad? He's better than Nicholls and Allen.

Allen is a work in progress and needs to be persisted with. He was looking good before being undone in one over.

He hasn’t convinced at test level yet but has started his ODI career with a hiss and a roar.

    Very weird.

Bad influences like Jesse Ryder and Doug Bracewell aren’t there to lead him astray though.

Agreed, and I feel like he hasn't had the luxury of playing many International matches on home turf. There isn't anyone more explosive in NZ than Allen IMO. I do agree that Young is better than Nicholls though.

There is a couple of real interesting characters to say the least.

I like Allen he just needs to change gears from 20/20s to ODI and he will be very good.
Hits the ball clean good hand eye and fast hands

Will Young is technically a superb batsman, he doesn't have obvious technical flaws like Allen, Nicholls, etc..

He has scored against top bowlers, century in Australia before 2019 CWC, he averages over 40 in ODI's, his omission just reeks of Stead incompetence.

Yeah he does have a technique flaw he gets knicked off a fair bit due to his front foot placement and he loses his off stump sometimes as he doesn't know where it is.
And I don't mean getting bowled off stump just losing where it is which exposes him to a 4th 5th line knick off.

Yes his ODI matches are 2 v Bangladesh,3 V Netherlands,3 v Ireland not a lot to gauge him on as far as One Day international cricket as yet.

Fantastic display from our two superstars Bracewell and Santner. Nodded off watching Allen and Nicholls. So what a comeback. Really negative bowling by Thakur too. Congrats on the 100 Bracewell. Very memorable.

The fans are passionate about the sport like nothing else. Yes, they are one eyed as all hell, but that hardly makes them unique.

It's the administrators that I can't stand. They are one end of the spectrum on Chris' comments & behave exactly like that. It's pretty much so India's way or the highway.

Anyway, point wasn't to start a debate about India. More that it was really nice to see such genuine sportsmanship and appreciation from a bunch of players who aren't exactly noted for it.

Just showing my appreciation to average out the comments about the two of them on the fern. Actually I wondered if anyone would notice if someone said anything good about them.... Don't get that chance all that often...
