This list was published in NME in 2014. The ‘greatest’ songs of all time.
Who writes this shit ? So much crap and stuff I’ve never even heard of.
So much? The list is pretty good as far as good songs go. The order and completeness is very arguable based on taste.
Probably only a couple of songs there that I couldn't instantly hum a bar of and that's probably because I know the song but maybe not the name. -

I thought you were a music guru?
I know all of those songs, even the fucking rubbish Smith ones.
I do think it’s a pretty shit list too.

Good point, now I’m less triggered I realise I know most of them too.
Some serious shite though, I shouldn’t let these lists get to me.

For want if a better place. Can’t believe he died 20 years ago. Absolute legend of the NZ Music scene.
His Bob Marley interview is world famous. Reclusive Bob and the Wailers were holed up in the Mon Desir in Parnell and Dylan Taite rocks up with a football and invites them to a local park for a kick around.
As a youngster I always admired how Taite could dress how he liked and have “non normal” hairstyles on TV in an era of broadcasting conservatism.

Forget Bob Marley, I can’t believe he got to meet Chuck Norris !!!!!!!!!!!!

Got the CD for Christmas. For a diminutive, housewife- looking, mid-40's singer, Clare Torry still had a bloody great voice.

For starters 'Love will Tear us Apart'
onlyat number two ruins it straight away.Fixed it for ya - as a public service.
I do know all those listed although I don't think even 10 would I consider for a GOAT list. Unsurprisingly Joy Division isn't one of them
If only Mallard had thought to play Love Will Tear Us Apart the Parliament protests would have melted away like the angsty teenage dreams of all those 80's JD and New Order fans.

Displaying your lack of taste so openly is something I admire
Def in my top 10 songs even if it's not one I listen to on high rotate.

Absolutely, epic trip down memory lane seeing his picture.
I still remember asking my parents why that guy looks and dresses so funny.
Amazing to think how conservative NZ used to be.

Blast from the past
Saw them in Chicago and Iowa State back in '91
Superb live band

I hate every single thing about this. Every bit.
But I fucking love this song.
