    Tickner is one.

Yep he was living and playing on the Gold Coast and was scouted back.
By memory he went back to NZ around 2015/16.

It was a gosh awful match for spectators at Bay Oval last night. ND opener batted like it was a test match and never gave his team a chance in a 14 over dash.

Meanwhile the Big Bash is always good viewing. Paddy Dooley is so watchable. Will be a superstar soon... And Fraser McGurk is unreal as a boundary fielder. The NZ comp is way below in quality currently.

Yeah, great viewing watching a team get all out for 15, that's the most one sided game in the history of T20. At least the match at Bay Oval was a reasonably close one.

The Super Smash is every bit as good as the Big Bash, if not better!

Watching the Kings for the first time in a while. Foulkes is an interesting bowler. I haven't seen inswing like that since, jeez, Lance Cairns? He looks very awkward for the batters. I hear he can hold a bat too.

Yeah he made 34 last game looked useful with the bat,Could be the new Boult the way he swings the ball both ways.

You have to admire a guy like Cairns for having the legacy he does when he averaged 16 with the bat.

I wondered if he could swing it both ways. What I saw today he got either late in swing or the ball went straightish.

    @Crazy-Horse
Canterbury have a couple of decent young quicks in Zac Foulkes who is 20 and Will O'Rourke the 21 year old.

Big, but not only factor. Others include (but not limited to):

    • Couple of big hits in THAT Eden Park ODI
    • hitting it over the stand at Carisbrook

Lance Cairns hit 59% of all the 6s hit by New Zealanders in internationals during the span of his career.

(although cricinfo's records are incomplete, some games boundaries haven't been retained in the uploaded scorecards).
He hit 69 known sixes of the known 117 known sixes NZers hit in tests and ODIs during his time.

    Or, another way ...

    • Nzers batted 1963 times for 177 sixes
    • Cairns batted 130 times for 69 sixes

Also the boundaries were way longer and you had to clear the fence that marked the boundary for the full six runs to be scored, hitting the fence on the full only counted for four. The bats he used would not have had the benefit of the minute computer design analysis todays slabs of willow are given to ensure they were optimal for six hitting. It is not uncommon to see mishits and thick top edges going for six these days.
