    Absolutely superb game of rugby.

England are very close to being a real threat, Scotland are already there. I said our Autumn win over them wasn’t celebrated enough, what will it take to realize Scotland are a seriously good team?

I’ve been pushing Finn Russel big time as one of the games best talents and I think he played the worst I’ve ever seen him. Accuracy was off and lost every kicking dual.

Yet, Scotland still won. Something to ponder.

They’ve ALWAYS lifted against England though only to stumble in the following game against anyone not Italy.

I’m not getting too excited yet.

Thought it was noteworthy that the excellent England try to Malins had zero involvement from Marcus Smith.

    He adds very little.

Don't write him off completely. Kid does have talent and it isn't his fault that 10s like him are rare in England so he is developing while playing.
Agree that he currently isn't up to speed but he could get there and be very good.
His (lack of) defence is about at the same poor level that BB and RM showed when they first played tests.

Question for those that sat through the whole game (and the other one).

Were the 'time wasting' changes evident? Lineouts? Scrums? Fake injuries?

That enormous gap Smith left for Scotland's first try. Looks like England have their own Mo'unga.

20:29 on the clock and England go diving off their feet at a ruck and Williams ignores it, only to penalise Scotland for not supporting bodyweight 21 seconds later.

It's like a Scottish player pointing it out results in the following cementing itself in his brain: Scotland, ruck, penalty.

VDM making England's defence look park like. A scything run and finish I haven't seen since Cullen.

    Well done Scotland.

Marcus Smith isn't getting any better, England fans.

    2-1 ya bread stealer. 2-1!

Stole bread to get an actual summer. Bargain.

Yes, only on the last line out was there anything towards time waring, England didn't huddled but they talked and walked slowly in.

Referees were awesome, will done team kiwi

Two tens don't work England, especially with a light weight 13. No dead cat bounce fit England, how will it work for Oz? I'm glad their idea of playing like South Africa with kicking didn't pay off. I'm half English, but I fall back on my Scottish ancestry side in any team with Farrell in it, although Maro was not his normal utter tosser self.

    This face made me smile

Scotland played a more fun brand of rugby and got away with it, now ranked fifth in the world! Clan de Merwe scored some great tries, but he jammed in on defence so often, he was awful

Pretty impressed with the Scots forwards' passing toward the end (which was all I watched). Awesome to see endeavour rewarded, that game was as good or better than a Rugby Championship tussle.

Can anyone explain the logic of box kicking when you’re hot on attack in the last third of the field when the opposition are all at sea? Time after time? When it hasn’t worked previously?

    Thought not.

What rubbish. Haven’t you been watching the AB’s over the last few years? We do this all the time!

And it’s bound to come off at some point

@voodoo It is hard to see why it is done from the cheap seats. Wayne Smith said it wasn't good and took it out of the Black Ferns game. Cocksedge's box kicks changed to be for distance when the opposition fullback was out of position. Worked a charm in the final.

    Harsh but true.

Best chance ever late last year and they still fucked it.

Good enough to knock over anyone else on their day though ( which is true of the top 10 in Rugby to be fair, even crap teams like Australia 😉 )

Yeah. It makes sense to do a shallower one when you have nothing happening in attack and you think you can get real defensive pressure on the catcher. But we do often watched that heel go back, that box kick go up, and a pathetic chasing line ignore the chase
