With more than 30,000 rugby fans attending the first ever Super Round over the ANZAC weekend, SAZAAR CEO Brendan Morris remained confident they can build on it whilst 'building on the lessons of last year.'
“It is fantastic that based on last year’s success we are heading to Melbourne once again for Super Round," Morris believes.
"The concept of having all the matches at one venue, in one city, over a single weekend is a big attraction for the tournament and is appealing to our fans.30,000 isn't that much for an entire weekend with so many games

Vaiolini Ekuasi who was in the blues wtg last season has signed with the Rebels. He is a beast of a player but obviously got passed in the development pecking order by Rob Rush. I blame Alama Ieremia for giving him no game time in favour of playing an Aussie at number 8 all season, who was a good player but not a number 8.

Waratahs 33 - 32 RedsIf it was a proper season game, the Waratahs would have lost. Nemani Nadolo blatantly spilled the ball over the line in the final minutes but because they didn't have a TMO at the ground, the ref called it from what he thought happened and awarded a try. Cost the Reds $25000 apparently.

It is a gamble because gains in one area can come at the cost of the other, although added size is a safer bet in the modern game because of the amount of stoppage time.

A rule that I actually quite liked from this game was that halfbacks are no longer allowed to come around and annoy their opposites when they are trying to clear/run the ball from scrum time.
Apparently, this is going to be a rule in Super Rugby so I'm happy that the likes of Ardie Savea get to pick up the ball without some pesky little halfback getting in his way.

@Canes4life Haha ironically Perenara was probably one of the best at that too - had great timing.
You can see how the new WR focus has sped up the game a lot in the Six Nations so hopefully it filters through to Super.

I'm all for it, as a fan seeing clean ball on a more consistent basis has to be a good thing. The only way to put pressure on a halfback/no8 now is to dominate in the scrum - advantage Crusaders in that respect.
