      Halftime.

      Moink balls. They evaporated quickly!

massive drive by the Chiefs. Very impressive - they're finding a way to hang in there against a side that looks better.

Seems neither side got the memo that defense wins championships.

And ironically after all this offense it appears the team that can get the first defensive stop will win the game.

Great game with an anti climax for a finish.

              Pleased Kansas won though.

Philly are a good team but their playoff run has been very fortuitous so don't feel too bad about that late ticky tack flag.

first reaction was that was a soft flag. But there was enough of a grab that if it was the first quarter no one would have blinked.

So professional by the Chiefs at the end.

                Great Superbowl

A fun SB to watch as it was always going to be a high-scoring game.

                    Really good fun.

The grab was clear - but the first one that the comms team missed a good handful of jersy and clear tug. Flag all day ... if they go down the rugby route of swallowing whistles it'd suck.

Fun game to watch. Chiefs remarkable in picking up offensively - it looked like college ball at times out there; good defenses getting shredded. The hit on the KC back Pacheco was monstrous. Good afternoon, a few beers and very solid entertainment.

Chiefs are such a good position with Mahomes contract too. Still got another 8 years to run and cap hits stay around 40m each year. That's a ton but with the cap going up so quickly, it's possible that in another year or two he isn't even in the top 10 highest paid QBs in the league.

Meanwhile the Eagles have one year left on Hurts rookie deal. His cap hit next year will be 4m but after that he'll presumably be looking at a mega deal (unless we see a major regression) and they'll have to make sacrifices elsewhere. Since he wasn't a first round pick they won't even get a fifth year option. They'll probably want to do a deal this off-season so will be interesting to see how that goes.

                        soooo much anti-ref salt online

i think mainly because the Chiefs won.

"let them play" seems to only mean the defenders, not the obviously impeded receiver trying to make a 3rd and 8 to keep the game going.

and where were they last weekn with the out of bounds hit? Both calls correct - not hard calls, but the right ones.

I haven't read the comments but the Eagles got the rub of the green with reviews and missed calls (e.g., personal fouls not called).

                                  Well done to KC.

Two even record teams, the top of their conferences that played a pretty even SB. Was always going to be close with a decent score. Can’t ask for more than that.

Raiders will be releasing Carr shortly, so we're going to have an early start to free agency. Will be very interesting to see how long he waits before signing somewhere. Rodgers is playing his annual game of 'who knows what I'll do', so there's a question for Carr about whether his value goes up or down once Rodgers future is decided.

I read an interesting fact about KC. Mahomes didn't have any of his WRs or RBs from their 2019 SB win still in the team for this championship win.

Isn't that due to salary cap? His value eats into what the team can spread around everyone else.
I guess teams get a window of opportunity as player values rise but aren't reflected and some players bank on a ring increasing their future value. After that window the squad can scatter.
Impressive if management can rebuild under the cap.

His hit is surprisingly low for an elite QB; 40M a year for 10 years.

The cap keeps rising; he's an absolute bargain at that price. There was som egood reporting on how the Chiefs have planned aroudn him and his cap; I'll see if I can drag it out
