Plus size model told to pay for upgrade because she did not fit in seat

A Brazilian influencer was humiliated after being told she was too fat to fly in her seat.

OK. For starters if I was in a seat and she sat beside me with all her rolls pouring over me I would be furious.

My aunt was a flight attendant for British Airways many years ago…..in amongst many hilarious yarns of her time flying she pointed out that clinically obese people ( check the pic, this woman is ) are a hazard for SOOOOOOOO many reasons.

Also it depresses me that she is an “influencer” because there are any number of impressionable young women who’ll look at her as an inspiration to demolish another packet of chocolate bickies after dinner.

Man turned on uncle’s BBQ for warmth, then pooed on it and urinated in the fridge

Matthew Mallinsin crept into his uncle’s home as he slept and took several items including wireless headphones, a rug and his credit card. A few days later

Poor proof reading. Shouldn’t they have said ‘defecated’ ?

Mind you I guess we should be thankful they didn’t say he took a shit and then a piss I guess.

Without using Google, who knows what the most common form of headwear was during the 'wild west'?

a half-dead racoon sterilized in catpiss and 5 cent whiskey. Oh, by 'wild west' you don't mean Henderson?

Duncan Greive has quit the Spinoff which he founded . From what my clients have been saying there been a change in Wellington and the days of shovelling cash in all directions are over and there’s a lot of redundancies in the works .

Grieves business model was based around NZ on air funding which resulted in one of the worst ever NZ tv shows - Spinoff tv . A “comedy” show so devoid of talent it makes 7 days look highbrow and one of the hosts did time in jail for domestic abuse .

He must have sensed the change was coming as he abandoned ship , fortunately for him he and that amoral landwhale Siouxsie Wiles already made a fortune as “ covid explainers “.

As usual Martin Bradbury nails it https://thedailyblog.co.nz/2023/02/06/mediawatch-a-salute-to-duncan-greive-who-resigns-from-the-spinoff/

    This line says the most

We salute Duncan’s time at The Protectorate, for no one will match his skill at NZ on Air funding applications.

Problem is that commentary is tainted by those that aren't so good at playing the game and don't get the candy.

Like much in the public sector it is the funding and business case models and systems that are broken (along with the ability to play that system). No different really to the ability of other groups/ businesses to play the tax system. That takes the money away before it even passes through the intestines of govt.

It would be the same if you set up a business as a deliberate tax loss I agree . Since there so little diversity of opinion in the NZ media the nz on air finding model looks pretty broken .

I wonder how long the Spinoff Will survive without him , Spinoff tv notwithstanding he was obviously very good at knowing what would get him handed a pile of cash and an audience large enough to justify it .

Outside of Danyl MacLauchlin there’s really very little in the way of talent there . I hope it goes the way Gawker has gone again .

@antipodean I know this is the Fern but did you even read the link? The person with the smart reply obviously didn't.
So you don't have to bother the woman quoted was talking about earlier experiences, not how she looks today.

I wonder what they left off this before they edited for clarity?

“I’m Muslim, I’m Filipino, I’m neurodiverse, I have mental illness and physical disabilities, I’m trans and asexual. People will say that there are contradictions,”

If this isn’t a troll I bet a bunch of those things are self diagnosed .

We had a girl working in our office. She was lesbian, vegan, dairy intolerant, gluten intolerant, had to have a standing desk (which she never used), had ADHD and anger management issues.

I’m not a qualified doctor but I still managed to diagnose attention seeking twat.

    @paremata

I do wonder if a lot of the lifestyle choices and difficulties that seem much more prevalent now, have a background of childhood abuse or awful parenting or something.
