Had the misfortune to encounter the former AFL player Jacko from the energiser ads a couple of times, complete and utter wankbiscuit. Was stoked when Mal Meninga beat the shit out of him.

The sports stars I've met (including some listed in this thread) have been almost always been charming, good-humoued and humble in person.

The big exception was Lord Sebastian Coe who I thought was a narcissistic fluffybunny of the very worst sort. Vile man.

Phil Tufnell, genuinely top bloke. Also buys rounds. And will talk to literally anyone.

Shane Warne, Jamal Idris & Wendell Sailor.

Always thought Steve Waugh was a top bloke, but there is a certain section of the Aussie public that think he is aloof or whatever - also top drawer. Complete opposite for his twin.

Nine pages is it and no mention of Marshy?

Ruined ten years of my life when he was the AB halfback.

Trying to ruin another ten years as a commentator.

For me he gets a lifetime pass for his performances vs the boks in 96. He was brilliant, so many line breaks and physicality and he was up against a great halfbackin Joost.

Erratic commentator, slowish pass but a bloody good player. Smiley

An Olympic legend with medals out the wazoo and clearly one of the giants of the sport of track cycling but if I never see Sir Chris Hoy's face ever again I won't lose any sleep at all. I'd love to say he was overhyped but he obviously wasn't. He's done great things for charity and sport, is always very polite and no doubt loves his Mum, but get the fuck off my TV.

I was going to raise James O'Connor but he doesn't fall into the spec. (ie they don't do or say anything particularly twattish and yet, and yet...)

I'm not really sure whether Ian Thorpe counts as an irrational dislike. And i guess his personality was stifled as a closeted teen swimming idol. I'd probably get branded as gayist or something, but he's mine.

I really enjoyed the Dutchman with the concave chest, Pieter van den Hoogenband, cutting Thorpe's lunch in a few events at Sydney 2000.

Back when I watched league - Geoff Toovey. Got nearly snapped in half at least once a game because he was the size of a 12 year old playing against men. Fucking commentators used to go in about his courage.
