I see Ravindra scored a 100 not out today.

Chuck him in for Bracewell surely.

    Very tempting.

With the current balance of the side, if the spinner is batting 8 I'd very happily pick Ish Sodhi. Will be great if Ravindra can get into some consistent top form as well.

He’s played 18 tests in ten years. He’s a stop gap at best.

Outside of John Bracewell and Dan Vettori, lock-in spin options don't easily leap to mind in Black Caps history (and even then Stephen Boock was on the scene for Braces).

Ish's biggest issue is his consistency (and occasionally fielding), but he could still be good for a few years yet. His batting seems to have kicked on.

I am still super pissed at Bracewell. We had the chance to rack up another 50, and actually create some scoreboard pressure and time. It could have been the miracle - but a moment of inattention and it's goddamn disaster time.

    Still cross.

I don’t blame you. If Kane Williamson did that I’d be pissed off. The fact a bits and pieces player like Bracewell did means I’m fucken furious.

Hmmm. Getting nervy from an England point of view.

Holy shit ! New guy got run out without facing a ball.

Won’t affect his strike rate but that’s fucked his Bradman average.

I was looking at Ish's test batting average earlier. 22.78 with 4 x 50. In comparison, Bracewell has a test average of 20.36.

Anyway back to your regular channel...

Lord Gower doing a nice comparison of Bracewell's terrible running yesterday, followed by him running out Bradman Brook this morning for 0 (0). Joys of cricket.

Stokes feels like the key now. He can take the game away from us in an hour if he gets going and has a real talismanic quality.

A caveat to that , though. I'm really quite unimpressed with Ish's batting in bouncy or NZ conditions. Including watching him at FC level. But ever since his debut back in Bangladesh about a decade ago, I've been quite impressed with his batting (more accurately, his scoring options) v spin in Asia.

Bracewell taken out of the attack. I don't love it - if he doesn't come back from the other end, I think it's a weak move. There is turn and bounce; you have to attack.

I thought Southee would be more aggressive ...

Need to get through this partnership. Anyone got any good reserves jinxes or more bad takes to help the Craps out?

Think we've used up the biggest table turner in the much-berated Bracewell running out their star batter without facing a ball, but there must be other options for us to try.
