All that bullshit just to find out how Ellie got bit.
We also found out more about Ellie's past and that, like Joel, as she said previously, she had lost people too. I've read that lot of what happened at the mall is directly from the game.
I'm really not grasping the concept of this being a game still
sounds like a fucking tv series to me

It's sounding like a super-expensive ad for the game.
The game just became available on PC - or is about to? And I'm wondering... do I buy/play the game? Or just download the TV-series from RagingRivers, and shoot a pretend-gun at the baddies as I'm watching? -

@Kruse I just find it strange, unless it's like one of those make your own decision books "If Ellie humps her best mate, turn to page 7, if she runs the fuck outta there, turn to page 8"
Hmm, Ellie ain’t that hot, but I’m gonna give Page 7 a crack thanks Chuck
I’m halfway between you and @Bovidae . I enjoyed it, and it did endear Ellie to me a touch after absolutely hating her in the last Ep - but I’m not sure they needed a full episode to achieve that.
Definitely a unique series!
-
I thought it was a solid episode.
Kinda saw the ending coming, although I don't know whether we will be left wondering about what happened to her friend...
Possible spoiler...
Did Ellie kill her, or did she escape?

My guess would be she turned and Ellie killed her, then didn’t turn. I’m wondering if they’ll play more of the backstory re how Ellie ended up where she did. Or did I already miss that?

My guess too

@Catogrande yeah thats my guess too, but we may never find out and just have to assume she did, or guess it is the dilemma on what she was to do with this person she clearly cares about.

@Bovidae yeah I thought it was a bit meh eh. I feel like there was nothing of value in it, didn't find it all that entertaining (unlike the Ron Swanson episode).
Agree 100%. Too much teen angst for me.
I obviously relate more to middle aged bearded gay men than whiny teens.

Putin v The West (BBC). Three-parter about how the West handled Putin leading up to Ukraine based around interviews with key players like Cameron, Hollande, John Kerry, Putin's ambassador etc.
A catalogue of good intentions and naievity but also incompetence and wanting to brush any hard stuff under the carpet. Cameron, Hollande, Biden & Kerry come out of it well, Merkel and much of Europe more worried about cheap oil and gas than Putin being dangerous and the concerns of the Baltic states. Obama is the one who comes out worst - backtracking on deals with allies, changing his agreed position on the hoof, not taking Putin seriously and avoiding hard decisions. Baltic state leaders, in particular, seem to hold Obama in thinly-disguised contempt.
Outstanding modern history which lets the key protagonists speak rather than frazzle your senses with loud music and graphics.

@Victor-Meldrew Thanks fo the tip. I'll try and dig that one out.

I've started watching The Hardy Boys on Disney+ with CF Jr. It's pretty good, and Jr loves it. It's cool to see him enjoy something that I loved as a boy
Jeez, I used to read all of those as a kid. Is the show reasonably true (obviously updated) to the books? I hate it when they just take the name and turn it into something entirely different (eg Riverdale)

final season coming, cant wait..

Survivor
I love watching the duplicity, especially with the changes made in the last few seasons. Season 42 is one where the cast looks like the island of misfit mascots.

Warrior Nun
- Right, I'm pretty sure I watched this on one of you fluffybunny's recommendations
- The bitch is annoying. From the start
- It turns out, she got some tits. But hidden like. Chaste. Like a nun. Kinda.
- Some of the other nuns are kinda hot, and more cleavage shown than one would expect
- Season 2 - fuck, that bitch is annoying
- I get that this level of "B-level action bullshit" series is going to hit the same tropes, but...
-
- previously: bitch insists on an ill-thought-out-plan... literally insisting others join in...
-
- later, conversation:
-
-
- "I feel like it's all my fault..."
-
-
-
- "no, fuck off, I didn't choose this..."
-
-
-
- Yes. You did. You fucking literally did choose the shit you're complaining about, when you insisted on the plan that everybody fucking else objected to. Fuck off you hot big-titted pretty little bitch.
-
- Not to mention the fallback Arrow-type bullshit storylines of "No, let's just run away and forget that I am a magically enabled being, and fuck off to do sapphic shit somewhere while the world burns". Which I would watch. And would have made a better S02 finale.

Anyone watched 1923, the following on from 1883 and probably a prequel or so prior to Yellowstone?
Finished it last night, largely decent, but there are 3 story arcs running, and by end the 3 arcs do not merge as you would expect, 1 I have no idea how it will merge in, and the other 2 just meandered along going no where, especially when you know how things pan out cos Yellowstone.
So I have to assume there will be a 2nd season of 1923 before they move onto 1963 or something...

This does not make me want to watch this. Sheridan’s stuff has a much shorter shelf life than he imagines. 1883 was good and stayed good because it had a beginning, middle and end. For sure, it offered the possibility of a follow on story but it stood up well on its own. Seems like he’s going down the route of milking it like a scouser does Hillsborough.
-
@Catogrande yeah I had never entertained that it might be a multi season series, just assumed it would be a single seaosn like 1883, that we enjoyed, and even when the final ep was aired I was thinking there was alot to tie up in an hour, then an hour later nothing at all was tied up.
I think a 2nd season could be good, but was just the 3 arcs didnt even get close to merging, for the one loose story, maybe I had seen more of Yellowstone I might see the link, but otherwise I cant work out what the point was.
