Actually read something interesting about all of that the other day and how Rian Johnson's intention around that whole piece was to show the 'greyness' of the whole good v bad thing much like Andor did. Everyone focused on Rose's little speech as 'wokeism' but didn't listen to the slicer's reply around how both sides contribute to arms dealing and the reality is those in the middle turn a blind eye or use situations to personal advantage. He them demonstrated that himself.
It was really lost in editing though/ went over heads/ delivered badly.
Take the basic plot of that movie and deliver it Andor style and it would be quite good. Trying to deliver it as an action film was the failing. -
@Crucial i definitely picked up on what they were trying to say, actually liked the idea that there are these companies out there selling to both sides...only really lost me when it was all for nothing...could have had the double cross (doubling down on the message there are people out there that will always sell to the highest bidder) ....but they still managed/had to do what they were trying to do...
They also started with the whole idea that anyone could be a jedi (broom boy)....which would have feed nicely into future movies with completely new characters....and then reys is a palpatine
whole thing is like Johnson was panning for gold....saw a glint...but then just tipped it out...and then proceed to smash himself in the face with the pan...and then Abrams walked up behind him and shot him

Yeah the timeline in Mando gets very 'unknown'.
Maybe this was a nod to not knowing how long Luke trained with Yoda -

Because of the clusterfuck of Boba Fett, and I include the Mando episodes, I'm less hyped about this season of Mando.
I want Andor back.
Got to take them all for their own flavours I guess.
Mando seems to have a huge amount of fan fluffing mixed in but it does, at least, mix in some cool stuff with action scenes amongst the logic jumps.

@Crucial unless we're going to suddenly see grogu being much more adept at using the force....im not sure it matters either
His 'powers' were hinted at last night. Time with Luke at least explains how he can control his use.

i guess i'll see when i watch it....but if its only slightly more than we saw before then 2 years seem like a long time

@Nepia some editing and the whole BoBF could have worked better as a few episodes of the Mando, 1-2 episodes showing the back story and then Mando rejoins him for the climax
Or just making a BoBF show full stop instead of making a hybrid?

I'm a big fan of the first two seasons but Faverau and Filoni blotted their copybooks with how they royally fucked up BoBF when they didn't need to. TBF as I'm not an animation guy I'm naturally suspicious of Filoni anyway for his fluffing of the prequels
, but Faverau is usually money baby.

Straight back into the fun show it was in season 1 & 2. Special effects are even better, spending all the money.
I am worried that too much budget might have been blown on the opening action scene and the updated ESB space fight. Hope we donât get too much cheap stuff to balance it out.
SW doesnât look like SW when they have these âcleanâ planets though. The best thing Lucas did was make a sci-fi movie that looked lived in.

Budget looks consistent so far, some truely beautiful shots last episode. Film quality.
