I remember the Keitel version, but it was nothing like the Cage one above. That was a sick film.
On the subject of Cage, I had wondered why a guy who at one stage had some serious acting chops had fallen so low to making films for Millennium Films and other straight to DVD companies(though Im hoping the Expendables is a full theatrical release..it has to be!). He's been so prolific lately It's pretty hard to keep track of what he's not in.

Turns out the guy is US 6m in debt. How can you be making so many movies and be so broke? This at least explains his bad hair piece...

Watched the Bank Job starring Jason Statham. Fun cops & robbers film with cockney accents, crooked cops, secret agents, drug lords, porn lords, horny house of lords and photos of a right royal shagging.
It's more temporary cash flow issues than out and out broke - apparently he owns a number of mansions and castles.

I did see that, the castle thing. I like comics as much as the next man(my avatar suggests that) but anyone who names their son Kal-El is likely not making sound investment choices eusa_think

Isn't Cage suing his financial guy over his money troubles?
Yeah his finance manager has allegedly not paid his income taxes for a calendar year or something but basically he owes about 6.5m in taxes.

That's quite impressive considering he had a pay or play deal for Superman and got paid $20 million for doing noting. Saw a pic of that recently (The Tim Burton version of Superman), it was farking awful. Super man with long hair and a bad plasticy suit.

I hate most of Tim Burton's stuff, which has me conflicted often, as he works alot with depp, who I rate as an actor. xzxunknown

My god thats shocking. I had heard about it but hadn't actually seen it. Tim Burton may have done well with the original Batman but compared to this Singer's Superman Returns is a masterpiece

Saw "Drag me to hell" last week, by the same guy who did the evil dead series which if you liked, you should enjoy this.
Means-well loans officer gets on the wrong side of a gypsy woman who puts a curse on her...
Plenty of gross-out moments (lots of projectiles flying into other peoples mouths), absolutely hilarious, most enjoyable b-grade-esque horror i have seen in some time.

Surrogates - Bruce Willis Sci-Fi, predictable and quite boring.

New DVDs, and watched a couple of sports DVDs this weekends, at opposite ends of the scale.

Firstly Days of Thunder. It is great fun in its cheesy-ness, but really a terrible sports movie.

The Rookie, in my opinion the best sports movie ever made!! Gets me every time, when he gets called up to the Major Leagues, then his grumpy and disapproving dad comes to watch. Damn dust....

Saw "The Escapist" last night. Good tense prison film with long periods of little to no dialogue. Brian Cox ( he's one of those "know the face if not the name" type guy's whose been in Troy, Manhunter, Super Troopers, The Ring and X men to name a few ) was bloody good. Lots of familiar faces in it in fact, mainly from British films.

Without giving anything away there is one awesomely memorable line....

"One thing about you Frank, you're too old to die young!"

Ok saw Paranormal Activity last night.

First I should note that the house I live in was the site of a double suicide some years ago. After living here for a year one of my daughters friends told her it was haunted. Some of her friends parents have asked us strange questions about whether hear strange noises and my friend who is very spiritual, tells me his daughter communicates with maori spirits in her dreams, refuses to go into my garage(where one of the deaths occurred). That said I think all of that is bullshit. We have been here for 4 years and our house is a happy one and that the kids love it.
We're thankful we didn't move as intended.

Ok that said...This movie made it very hard for me and my wife to not think things about our house. It is fucking scary!

The tension is built up to a point where its almost unbearable. Some seriously creepy moments off set by the occasional annoying one. But over all 8/10

Hooroo this is not for you.

Soul Men - with Bernie Mac and Samuel L. Jackson. Two old singers get together cause their former band front man from years ago dies.
Both play great 'mother fuckers' in the movie. Very good movie. Well worth a watch..

This was Bernie Mac's last movie, and Isaac Hayes is also in it who has also passed away.

I've seen that on a couple of occasions at the DVD store but it's always out. SLJ is good enough to make a potentially bad movie very good and Bernie Mac was all class as well. Surely I'll get lucky this time !

Saw "Last house on the left" a very good thriller with a [spoiler:26cencqp]pretty fucken brutal rape scene[/spoiler:26cencqp]

Incredibly gory and violent and very tense as well. The evil Terminator from the TV series plays a great bad guy in this.

I like Samual L. Jackson - so my review is probably biased. It's a funny movie - with some good named actors in it. Lots of swearing in it. So a movie to just sit back and enjoy rather that critique it.

Yeah as I said SLJ has been in movies that were good then you think, "hang on if someone else played that role the movie would be shit"
