@Kirwan Yeah I left after Season 3 for similar reasons.

I suspect I just like Yeoh as a leather clad dominatrix

Michael, Tilly, Saru etc not so much

Good episode this week too. Lots of filler, but that is modern serialized TV.

Now, if they go to Deep Space Nine to see Garak ...

@Tim not much to disagree with there. The show is good, that last episode was classic Star Trek. Not good Star Trek, classic.

    Very content nerd.

@dogmeat said in 50 Years of Star Trek - RIP:

@Kirwan I enjoyed the first couple of seasons of Discovery with Michelle Yeoh - despite it having so many whiney, woke, unlikeable characters - but gave up after it went all eco warrior save the Dolphins

    But, that's a Trekkie canon!

Now if they could only bring back Space: 1999 or Blake's 7 I'd be happy.

    Great shows from my childhood

They're gonna need Chief O'Brien for the final episode.

That was very satisfying. I hope that show runner gets the Legacy show he wants, he understands Trek and I’d like to see new stories in this format.

New enterprise stories would be great.

    Strange New Worlds on again.

Fixed the Klingon aesthetic, continues the fun episodic vibe from last year. Very enjoyable.

I assume that The Orville has been discussed in the thread already (maybe even by me), I'm watching S2 and will move on to S3. As I don't have Paramount this is the closest to Star Trek I can get and it feels the closest to original Star Trek I've seen, especially as it's mostly stopped being a comedy. What do others think of it?

I haven't seen Strange New Worlds yet though which is apparently(?) the closest to the original of the actual Star Trek brand shows/movies.

SNW definitely close to the original series. Much more gung-ho, episodic and boys own adventurous.

I never managed to get into The Orville
