also - the least advertised Ford Trophy final between CD and Canterbury is live and free on youtube. Delayed because of cyclones previously.

And CD are going well in their chase for 214 with 156 (for four) of them knocked off in 34 overs after a decidedly shaky start. Incidentally it is currently nice and sunny at McLean Park which can be a bit if a rarity when you schedule a cricket match in the HB

2024 connections to the live stream at the current moment.

@Higgins bloody good effort on a tough pitch. I watched a few overs and it was magnificently amateur coverage. Highlight being one of the few camera at the ground focussed on the wrong player taking a catch, so got a great shot of fist pumping celebrations.

Overall though it's great to see cricket on TV, I'm a tragic. Still think NZC and Spark missed a trick not showing plenty of domestic cricket this season with the Caps away for most of the summer

Sri Lanka won the toss, having a bat and in trouble already 13/2.

    Henry is bowling brilliantly!

    Very nearly 26/4.

Sri Lanka survive an LBW review.

Watching live I was sure that was out, but ball tracking shows it going over the top.

Edit, watching the side on replay, it looks to me like it would’ve gone on to hit the stumps…

    Anywho… it’s not out.

Henry is a ridiculously good new ball bowler.

Great spell today, but we also have to note this SL one day has slipped so low in ratings they will have to qualify for next tournament because of their woeful batting of late.

56/4 hoping they get enough to set some target to watch us bat

It's not really a batting collapse without a comedy run-out.

157 all out, Henry extremely miserly, liking the look of Shipley so far as well

A terrible start by NZ. Is the ball moving around?

@Bovidae the bounce has given batsmen trouble all day.

    NZ 4 down

I thought Sri Lanka bowled really well at Eden Park. Getting reward for it today

Pretty comfortable in the end. I have no idea what our likely world cup squad is but Young helped his claim tonight.

Hard to know as it seems our top players are always rested from ODI’s unless it’s the World Cup.

You’d have to assume Conway, Williamson, Phillips, Santner, Southee, Ferguson, Boult (maybe) all walk straight into the starting team if they’re fit.

I think our likely top 11 for India will be:

    Allen
    Conway
    Williamson
    Mitchell
    Latham
    Phillips
    Bracewell
    Santner
    Henry
    Ferguson
    Boult

Sodhi obviously goes and plays when we think three seemers is a waste of time.

Souther obviously also goes as the backup seemer.

Young is first choice for batting cover so he goes too.

Blundell most likely gets to be back up keeper (although with Conway and Phillips maybe he misses out).

It would seem the only real positions in doubt are Blundell's and Boult's (contracting reasons).

If Boult doesn't get selected, it's probably Shipley or Tickner. If Blundell doesn't go then it's probably Nicholls, although Chapman could be an outside chance as he can bowl some spin ( don't think he'll get picked though as didn't even get a game against Sri Lanka).

Well, there's some bad news on that front 😞

just over halfway through the SL innings in the first T20

SL smashing it at 119-3 after 11.4

Lister and Milne getting smoked, going to have to be great effort from NZ to get back into this

Some shocking bowling from NZ, just spraying it all over the place.

Without Looking, we’d have bowled close to 10 wides already too - the last one I’m not sure how it could be called wide when it was 10cm inside the ‘wide’ line.

    Should be a fun chase
