The fact he was that bad early, and this good now is actually a great sign

Japan seems to have matured him a bit. Earlier era DMac might have gone for the try rather than pass to Stevenson

Stevenson looked good in a game of that intensity so that is bloody pleasing.
Crusaders need a halfback and for Jordan to return to fullback.
What isn't so pleasing is RMs brainfart kick in the 71st minute or whatever. If that was the ABs I would be sooo stressed right now. Just what is the thinking process for that decision? Just dire for an AB pivot.

Going to be a tough decision between RM and DMac

Couple of questions (could have gone elsewhere but loads of examples in this match)

At the breakdown if a defender goes 'beyond the ball' it's a penalty against him, but if an attacking player in support of the ball carrier goes 'beyond the ball' unbound that's OK?

Is it just Angus who doesn't care that the support players from the attacking team make absolutely no attempt to bind and/or stay on their feet?

SR this year is very lenient about what the attacking team is allowed to do. It’s not just this ref.
