@Kirwan you realise it is Autumn right?
Yep shes crazy up here, eased about 20 mins ago, but been pretty heavy for a couple of hours, with no where to go on already sodden ground.
MOst forecast models had this hitting later in the afternoon, so hopefully it has just hit early, not just more and in for another dose later.

@Kirwan last week were were under heavy rain warning form Tuesday night through to Friday morning, sure we didnt get alot of heavy rain and nothing like this, but like many part sof the North Island, so much rain over the past few months and then heavy downpours like this make it extremely bad...heard Brynderwyns closed again.

Yeah, this is a pretty heavy event again unfortunately. Hopefully less damage this time.

@dogmeat yeah not looking good almost 3 hours after being reported missing, those caves are a labyrinthine, unsure how prepared the class was in terms of wetsuits, torch etc...but given those caves are renowned for flooding and the amount of rain we have had and under an orange rain warning...

I wonder who made the decision to go in, knowing what the weather forecast was

@canefan yeah I expect at least the 2 teachers in the group and the Principal will be in the firing line...
Will be plenty of finger pointing to come me thinks, whether the boy is ok or it ends tragically.

Justifiably by the sounds of it.
Poor bloody parents - must be agonising.
Same for teachers, but less sympathy.

@JK not sure too many places are made for the rainfall many parts of the North Island has received in the past 6 months, just awful.

Yeah so bad.
Perhaps need to go somewhere else in NZ that doesnt get this semi tropical weather
