Yes a definite grey area for some of that era for sure

There was that period about a decade ago where suddenly some historic allegations were looked into. Rolf Harris was one of those.

But compare the way Cliff Richard was treated to Jimmy Page. There was proof of one person offending vs accusations of the other.

Whats the difference? If 'Mistletoe and Wine' had a good guitar solo would they not have investigated Cliff? There's so many open nonces from that era of rock that nothing happened to because mainstream culture has given a pass to some but not others

And Roman Polanski who literally drugged and raped a 13 year old girl.

Yeah as I understand it he can never set foot in the USA ever again ?

In his case he gets a lot of sympathy from the whole Manson saga though.

No, despite the best efforts of Hollywood. Tbh he probably gets more sympathy having experienced and lost his family during the Holocaust. Iirc he was a serial adulterer and was probably with another woman when Sharon Tate was murdered. At any rate, nobody should be given a pass for abusing kids.

Yeah I possibly should have made it clear the sympathy was not from me, absolutely no excuse for what he did.

…..and anyone even thinking about cheating on Sharon Tate clearly isn’t right in the head at any rate.

Elvis? Wasn't Prescilla like 14? But it really seems to have been a serious fetish thing in the 70s. Actually there are some rather disturbing articles from that time attempting to normalise paedophilia.

Jerry Lee Lewis was the precursor

My primary school used the Rolf Harris videos about child safety to educate us about inappropriate touching. Fair to say that didn't age well.

Tina Turner, 'Queen of Rock 'n' Roll', dies aged 83 in Switzerland

Tina Turner, 'Queen of Rock 'n' Roll', dies aged 83 in Switzerland

The singer began performing alongside ex-husband Ike Turner, who infamously subjected her to years of abuse; she resurrected her career from the doldrums in the early 1980s - taking it to new heights and becoming one of the world's biggest music stars.

I didn't realise she'd been sick for some time. One of the greats

Fuck me. Take Rolf out if that vid and it’s still bloody weird.

A bunch of kids singing about paedophilia.

    Yuck.

The two best bits of Private Dancer ( my absolute favourite song of hers by far ) gone the same year ( the other being Jeff Beck with his sweet guitar lead ). Sad.

RIP Tina. I first remember her in Mad Max. She was terrific in that

Weirdly enough I thought she was older. But damn, she was awesome. Came across as a really nice person as well.

Those who followed League in the late 80s and 90s would remember this:
