@Nepia Just another in a long line of sitcoms I been watching, Arrested Development is next on my list...
How I met your Mother, Modern Family, Scrubs, to name a few for multiple seasons were just so good, agree HIMYM tailed off, but still had some great stuff, aside from the finale.
I have started the latest season of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, think I'm gonna bail, man it is so shit so far (def one that shoulda stopped after 2 or 3 seasons)
Arrested Development is great too, although the later Netflix seasons are not as good.
If you haven't watched Community then add that to your list.
I've never been an Always Sunny guy (watched S1) but I really liked The League which I think is similar in style and humour. I might give it a try again some time.
-
@Nepia always sunny has its moments, but after about 3 or 4 seasons it is more miss than hits...I do like Mythic Quest, which McElhenney does too, tried to watch a movie Charlie Day (also from always sunny) billed as a comedy...it wasnt funny, had a great cast but missed the mark IMO (starring Charlie Day, Kate Beckinsale, Ray Liotta, John Malkovich, Jason Sudekis, Adrien Brody, Travis Fimmell, Dean Norris, Common - although I bailed at about an hour and hadnt seen or reconised half of them)
Just had a look at Community, TBH, have never looked at it (although had heard of it) but sounds promising.
-
@MiketheSnow like @Nepia I also had no idea it was back! Will watch, I loved S1

Anyone watching In Limbo on ABC?
Maybe available if you're able to get ABC iView.
Don't do the TV series thread often, as don't do many TV series, but ...
Think we're 5 eps in with one to go.
Aussie dramedy.
Dude's best mate commits suicide, and then continues to haunt said dude.
Leaves wife & daughter behind.
Dude has to find out why and help mate out of limbo.
Set in Brissy.
Helps if you know where Maleny is.
Final was this week.
Satisfactorily wrapped up (mostly). Not absolute goosebumps, but the moment of revelation was a "oh, yeah, nice" type moment.
Without spoilers it wrapped up the loose ends and dealt with the issue of men's mental health.
Enjoyed. Recommend.

She doesn't look fifty!
If we're being fair, my other half is almost half a decade older than me and looks at least a decade younger. So I can buy it.
Who woulda thought life without kids is different eh?
-
@Machpants actress born in 71...
I finished Silo, all in all, I liked the series.
Certainly not action packed and fast moving like so many these days.
Tim Robbins, Common and Rebecca Ferguson are all very good in thier roles.
Interesting ending, not exactly how I thought it would play out, but on a similar path, but with a twist which was interesting

anyone else watched Carnivale (from early 2000's)
set in the US during the depression of a travelling carnival, but with a fantasy element to it as well.
Interesting series.
Also been watching Raised by Wolves (UK version) which is a comedy about a single mother in Wolverhampton and her 6 homeschooled kids with some funny and cringey stuff (not least the kids names :Germaine, Aretha, Yoko, Wyatt, Maria & Cher)

Yeah - looked it up... they were spending $2 million per episode !?
I now kinda understand why it got canned.
But still - would have really liked to see where they went with it.
I think it got cancelled around the same time as Deadwood ? - and I was spitting about both.
Which reminds me - I don't think I ever got around to watching the Deadwood movie. -
Episode 3 of Hijack
The plot thickens
