He was rocks and diamonds. Annoying thing is most of the rocks bit should be easy to fix/cut out. Needs the same sort of motivational arse-kick that Frizell clearly got pre-season.

Lomax 5 ? Did NZ Herald watch the same match as I did ? He held his own against arguably the best scrummaging LHP in the world and was very effective in the rucks, assuring quick ball thanks to his well timed and powerful cleaning. I would have given him an 8.

He isn't Coaching Jesus and has made some serious fuck-ups, but we're stuck with him, he's hung in there and things look a little bit brighter. Just a pity it took a year longer than it should have done.

Best ABs opening 20 since handing Ireland a ¼ final exit. Frizzell was sensational in that period. Cane is also playing very well and I think it helps ardie having frizzell doing some of the hard yards. A bit worrying that SA came back we need other bench options then Vaai and papalii in my opinion. Jordan and telea are light years better than Clarke. We might actually have a chance in France, especially if we can negotiate our ¼ final.

Referee was excellent, I thought.
Very good game to watch by both teams.
First 20 minutes were amazing, best AB 20 mins I've seen for quite a while.
Second 20 was evens, ABs still playing alright but Boks improved, just could not finish.
Third quarter was, sadly, what we now expect from Foster's ABs , the big slump, which coincided with the Boks really getting into their groove.

@booboo aside from a few poor kicks and decisions (assuming they weren't part of game plan) otherwise was his best game in years.
While Christie made an outstanding tackle and created an excellent turnover, imo he is a massive problem for our continuity.

He should be getting the ball at 15 with the full field to run at.
Even though he is a gun at 14, the defender still has the touchline to use against him.

Vaai has done nothing to impress me in his cameos in black thus far. I don't see it.

Yeah, Ritchie followed tactics as well but I thought BB's execution wasn't that good and he made 1-2 poor decisions. Not down on him per se but think as a senior player he needs to reduce those errors and just be a bit more solid.

Interesting how it’s all going , feels a bit like 2003 at a similar stage .
World Cup year , Patchy form leading into the year , then we play bloody well in the tri nations and get a bit more optimistic.

The step down from Nugget is a huge problem but I thought Ginger did his job really well today. Problem is that may well be a one-off and he doesn't fill me with confidence.
Just hope Roigard can fill that role.
