Who could believe that both Petone (lost 29 - 33 at home to Tawa) and Marist-St Pats (wiped out 20 - 25 by Oriental-Rongotai at Hataitai Park) were dumped into the bottom tier of the Championship playing for the Hardham VC Cup after matches in Wellington yesterday. College Old Boys-University (slaughtered 46 - 12 at Hell Park by Johnsonville) will emulate them if they cannot dispose of Tawa next week.

Ayden Johnstone looks to be the only SR player playing. Adam Thomson is dusting off the boots again for Hamilton OB.

I watched the livestream of the TA Sports-Marist game. The Marist forward pack was too strong in wet conditions over a young TA pack.

A few players from both teams must still be injured.

Any info on the story behind the late change in the Championship final? Fraser Tech beat Varsity in the SF but were then replaced for the final.

@mikedogz that had to be the most insane finish ever , Karaka lead with 3 minutes to go 24-13 , and then Manurewa just go bang ,bang and the conversion from mid the 22 goes between the sticks 24-25 .
Well worth a look especially the last 5 minutes which on the CM Facebook site .

Putaruru challenge Melville for a spot in the Premier grade next year. Putaruru were bottom five of Division one two years ago so they have improved heaps.

My club Te Rapa host the Division two final with Marist against the HOB Guzzlers. My prezzies game is the curtain raiser with us defending our trophy against Suburbs.

A huge gap in quality between the divisions. UMS did will to get back up, no one else has given it a good go recently.
