Spain and Sweden are the best two teams I’ve seen in this tournament.

US and England look to have dropped their level. England have suffered some big injuries though

England look solid at the back but Keira Walsh is a big loss and I think they lack speed in attack.

So far, this US team looks not nearly as good as their best sides in the past.

Of course the tournament is not won in the group stages....

My mate's manager's son plays for the Under 14 Oz team.
Brazilian women's team played them in a warm-up.
The 12/13 year-olds beat them three nil.
    Thought it was funny.

    For real?

Yeah I’m calling bullshit on this unless proven otherwise. They’re fit, athletic women and boys that age are still way off their best in more ways than one.

    These stories pop up everywhere.

Under 15 team in Texas cleans up the USNWT.

Devlin the other day mentioning his young fulla at 14 was in a boys team that cleaned up the Football Ferns 3-2.

    But so the fuck what?

I've enjoyed what little I've seen (last 30 muns if NZ v Norway) and buts of Tillies losing the other night.

    I enjoy the competition.

I don't think it should devalue the competition. Just highlights the difference between the sexes

Did we just have a national anthem without a verse in Te Reo Pakeha?

@Canerbry Same thing happened before the Philippines game. I think FIFA time limit the anthems.

Norway 3-0 up against the Philippines.

NZ drawing 0-0 with Switzerland. NZ need a goal or they are going out.

As usual we are fighting hard, but lacking the quality to score. The coach loves her players who haven't scored for NZ in 5 years.
Hand goes down with a turned ankle, looks like she will try to run it off

Swiss looking very comfortable right now. The energy of our press has dropped

If NZ doesn't advance it will be the same old story - the inability to put the ball in the net. Hand has been desperately unlucky in the WC.

I'm gonna sound like a broken record. But I can't see the merit in playing girls who haven't scored goals for years. Klimtkova has to make brave moves and go all out for the win straight from kickoff

Wilkinson isn't in the game with a lack of service in the box. Chance was disappointing in the 1st half.

This girl is the future. She scored goals for fun for the Phoenix. She's at the end of our bench tonight

Not good enough in the midfield. Switzerland didn’t offer much but technically superior.

No end product. We huffed and puffed but lacked any sort of cutting edge up front. 100 minutes of football and we could only manage a couple of shots on goal
