Feel sorry for these girls. They'll now be forgotten faster than Vanilla Ice.

15 just hung off the attacker. Won’t want to watch that again.

Actually I don't think so. Theyve exceeded expectation.

Problem is the lack of regular games to provide more exposure

I think you're both right. This was the perfect storm of a major event, push for equality and the hosts getting to the semi-final.

The reality is apart from the national team which will surely get more sponsorship attention, the women's league won't be attended.

Aussies will need a strong showing at the Olympics if they want to keep the train rolling

A moment of madness of defence, and a couple on attack. Cost us the game.

I’ll be going for Spain. Those English not very likeable. And the young Spanish striker is east on the eye.

Nah, that's just wrong. Australia were outplayed. They had 2 real chances of which Kerr both fluffed, and then a wonder goal.

England had almost all the ball, a lot of control and got a totally deserved victory.

Pom commentators though, Jesus Christ. At 3-1 switched to fully "we're in the final" mode ... its like they totally forgot Kerr's goal!

The Spanish are more skilled on the ball than either of these teams. They will have a good chance. But the English played tough tonight

That 3rd goal for England was a beauty. No look pass that split the D and then a very clean finish.

Kerr goal was class. She had other opportunities but just couldn’t finish.

    In your opinion

England were more comfortable on the ball and had more possession, but Australia played themselves into goal scoring opportunities and shots on target

They converted one and could/should have had more

England scored at the right times, twice through defensive lapses

That's fair. But she will have her chance to make an impact. Legally this time hopefully

A superb ruthless, disciplined performance by England. So resilient. Worthy World Cup finalists.
