I think on pitches where a 4th seamer is handy, a 2nd spinner wouldn't be. But yeah, there is no obvious case for number 5 but Will Young, Popli, Munro, Nicholls, Tome Bruce and maybe even Guptill are all options there.

Good thing about my plan is that any of Anderson, Santner or Neesham could come good as a number five, since any of them is already easily good enough to bat seven and probably six.

Need to start looking around for Watling's eventual replacement - especially since Ronchi's not got far to run.

How old is Watling? Surely we don't need to find a replacement just yet.

31. We need him to stick around because we don't have deep keeping stocks.

Just turned 31, so he's hopefully got a couple more years. But, Ronchi is 35 and not done much in the past 12 months.

Never too soon to start looking. :)

Ronchi's a busted flush, no doubt about that. 31 isn't that old for a keeper, especially a relatively new one to international cricket. He might have another 4-5 years in him.

The pitch curator looks like a fun guy to hang out with.

On the other channel the Aussie - Sri Lanka test is shaping up as a great finish... Aussie shit all over them for 3 days & now Mendis has smacked his maiden ton (160 odd) to well & truely stick it up that stroppy child captaining straya.

Warner will probably stroll out & smack 100 off 60 balls & it'll ber all over, but its a good test so far

PM me if you agree there should be a link to a Ustream or something.
