I arrived to see most of the 2nd half of the Waikato-Northland U19 game as the kickoff time was moved forward. I was told that Northland led at HT, and would have had the wind behind them. Northland had their moments on attack in the 2nd half but didn't covert into points. Waikato ran away with the game in the end. There was no scoreboard but it was something like 43-10.

For collapsing a maul on the goal line. PT and YC.

I am probably going to watch the U18 game at St Peter's.

I'd like to know why Waikato hasn't bothered with an official Dev team again. The Harlequins XV have already finished their three games.

A great sunny day at Cambridge for the Waikato U18s vs Auckland Gulls (their B team) game. Waikato won 41-24 (HT: 17-7). A couple of late tries to Auckland made the scoreline closer than it was for much of the match. What I find interesting is that some of the players selected for the NZ Schools squad aren't even in the Waikato U18 squad. Auckland certainly has plenty of depth at this level.

Getting four squads and support staff over to Waiheke won't be cheap.

The U16 tournament winners were Waikato (Boys) and BOP (Girls).
