@Nepia is filoni a prequel "lover"?....i always kind of thought he liked the idea....and wanted to fix all the stuff they got wrong, Maul for example

Yep, he actively advocates for them - he's discussed it on Kevin Smith's podcast, and I think he partially converted Smith, but he didn't actually outline it on the show itself. If I could remember what podcast it was I'd let you know but it's a really old episode.

.+ @canefan And nope not going to binge them, as womble notes some people don't want to watch animation, that's me. 🙂

Question, have you ever tried? Personally I find so much of model action films (mainly looking at you avatar) are cgi things being animated is not an issue, in saying that I’ve founds enough cool adult orientated animated programs I generally don’t have an issue to start with

I watched the Clone Wars movie. But I'm not a huge fan of animation in general. I don't mind some - Lego Movie, Spider-verse, Studio Ghibli, Pixar etc. But when I'm choosing TV to watch I'm more likely to pick live action.

Rebels was so much better than all of those. Proper storylines

You're not making me want to watch it by taking shots at those films. 😂

Having the story centred around the crew, with all of the other storylines revolving was great. I found CW too disjointed, it was more like a series of shorter stories

enjoyed ep 4, some cool lightsaber fights, i dont actually know anything about different forms of fighting but cool when they at least look like theyre doing different things rather than fight like kids that found a couple of cool sticks

really felt like just an ep 3 part 2

hyperspace travel and rings, am i the only one that thought the rings the jedi used were just because theyre little fighters werent big enough to have hyper drives?....but this one seems to be the whole ship, the ring is the ship like a ring is needed for hyperspace travel...but lots of big ships do it witout a ring....i had been expecting a huge ship to arrive to go in the ring or something

I read that Ep5 will also be shown on the big screen in the US. That suggests a longer episode and plenty of action.

Seen some interesting rumours swirling around, sounds like they have somethinginteresting coming. If one thing is correct, it'll explain one of the characterisation choises that has seemed a bit flat.

@Kiwiwomble remember x-wings had hyperdrives, so the rings may just be to increase range.

@Kirwan the rings were the little fighters before the empire

I just found it weird....why did it need to be a giant ring and not just a ship with all the engines

@canefan no...i get why the fighters used them, small and didn't have hyperdrives....i dont know why the ahsoka ship was a big ring rather than just a ship with hyperdrives

@Kirwan It was an episode of extremes - the Ahsoka story and the Hera story. I'm not sure there was enough action to be worthy of being on the big screen.

Yeah, agree. I would kill for a prequels movie made like that though. Such a huge difference having real Clone Troopers and that dirty, smokey setting for the battles instead of the sterile green screen of the 90s.

Says a lot that Darth Vader/Anakin is still the most compelling character. That said, now that Asjoka has "died" and came back with a personality (notice the smiling and Gandalf the White outfit) it might be a easier watch from here on.

hayden christensen is redeemed for me, obviously had a bit of stuff in obi won which was good....but that sequence of scenes did SO MUCH for the anakin > Vader story

one or both of these things has happened...proof that lucas might have good ideas but not a good director...or christensen has taken an opportunity with both hands and become a better actor (subtle changes from anakin to vader just in the face)

loved seeing the different clone wars anakins (outfits/haircuts)

episode 6....still loving it, some big epic and imperial looking bad guys and some pucky underdog good guys

makes me think, EP 1 is really the only one where we got to see anything close to the good guys actually being in charge, all the other movies and shows its really eh good guys as the underdog

I'm loving the unspoken history of that star destroyer in this galaxy, the stormtrooper designs. Such a shame that bearded jedi guy died in real life, he's done a great job.

@Kirwan yeah, its interesting seeing how theyre walking the line of not re explaining everything from Rebels....but managing to keep people just accepting some of these things like who thrawn is, why he's in a different galaxy etc

giant ring makes sense now so i retract my previous questions

yes, really enjoying Ray Stevenson as Baylan, kind of ominous vibes, he's a bad guys you cant help liking, whats his aim? will be interesting if Baylan dies before the end or if he survives and will be re cast

I think this will always be one of the weirdest things to make it past editors…in a franchise that include ghosts, space whales, effectively magic and countless other unbelievable things

Final episode…was a surprising end, still very much enjoyed it…I’m a little concerned how they’re going to explain how none of these big characters are in the sequels

This idea from the socials is interesting

“What if... Thrawn succeeds in returning to his own galaxy but Ahsoka, Sabine, and Ezra sabotage the jump and they arrive back home after Rise of Skywalker?

I think that would throw a wrench in a lot of theories/expectations and open the future wide up.

Then the Filoni movie actually cuts forward to an adult Grogu and aged Bo Katan and Din Djarin going up against Thrawn with sequel trilogy characters in supporting roles. (And since the next trilogy is apparently set much later, Filoni's movie could potentially have Thrawn kill Poe or Finn along with Din Djarin to help clear the deck for new characters.)”
