Just finished season 2 of Slow Horses on AppleTV+ this was excellent. If you enjoy a spy thriller (British), mixed with a little black
comedy give it a look. Season 3 due late this year.

    It was excellent

t was inspired by the Magdalene Laundries, that I had heard of, but wasnt 100% on what they were...

They were actually run by The Sisters of the Seven Joys. Which sounds more like a '70's porn film than a religious order.

    Finished 'Far North'

Great series, I expect plenty of artistic licence.

Makes it look like the cops almost missed it, but I guess it cant be easy sifting through all manner of tips and in this instance, seemed a bizarre story...but as the title says, sometimes fact is stranger than fiction.

Interesting to see the sentencing they all got too, much longer than many we see, guess it was a bit more of an international event they needed to look like they were serious about it...assume most will be out in 4 or 5 more years (10 shy of thier sentence?)

Anybody jumped on Gen V yet?

Not quite The Boys but good fun, the Tek Knight revelation at the end of episode 4 got a good laugh.

Just started the Becks doco. 2 episodes in, I know he’s controlling the narrative but it’s great footage and hard not to like him, and the old ManU boys come across pretty well (which sucks)

    Yep, also two episodes in.

Very likable guy, in fact ALL of them are. It’s amazing how many names I remember considering I’m not even a football fan, I think having a pommy neighbour in the late 90s who went on about it all the time stuck with me.

England football fans of that era ( or any era really ) should be ashamed of how they treated him.

An absolute pack of fluffybunnies if ever I’ve seen one.

I'm the same, I know all those players, I wouldn't know a single Man U player now.

I've watched the first ep, just flicked it on while I was eating lunch and then carried on. Was funny how they took the piss out of him for always sneaking off to see Posh - but I assume we all had a mate like that back in the day.

@Bones My new policy is to wait until all eps are available as I don't have the patience to wait a week for shows. I'll definitely give it a watch when they're all out.

Yeah I was just far more into sport back in those days. I was the same with league players, knew heaps of them and along with knowing all their names ( easy ) I knew all the height, weights, middle names, favourite colours and god knows what else about every single Super Rugby player. Fair to say my interest has waned somewhat of late……

But yeah, pleasantly surprised how interesting the Beckham doco is, it’s done by the funny little Indian ( Jewish in real life ) guy from the Short Circuit movies back in the 80s.

Yeah, I'm the same with sport, I guess it's just a consequence of getting older. I'm still interested but back in the day I'd watch all the rugby, then the league, then head out to the pubs. Now I'm out having dinner etc and will happily watch the highlight of my non favourite teams.

I listened to a podcast interview with Fisher Stevens where he discussed his doco career. He's also on Succession.

Back to Beckham, even John Hart got off really lightly compared to what he got and reviewing the footage of the incident just brings home what a joke the officiating in Football is. Even the guy on the receiving end didn’t think he deserved what he got.

Beckham is obviously made of stern stuff to get through what he did, I must say I did chuckle a tiny bit at what they chanted about Posh though 😉

I tried to watch The Continental. Even the first 10 minutes were ludicrously stupid. People who liked Wick 4 would probably love it.

finished Happy Endings last night, pretty good, not as good as other similar sitcoms, but decent watch, Elisha Cuthbert is HAF.

Started Futurama as well, but wife wont watch that, so now need to find something else to watch with her.

Where are you watching this? I watched it back in the day and have always wondered if I'd be able to find it streaming.

Ugh, better than 480, but still, are we in the dark ages?

I'm currently watching the last season of New Girl that I 100% did not know existed before doing my current rewatch of the series.

(And yep, I feel dumb for not getting torrent ...)
