My thoughts too... even if it is half an hour, it doesn't matter. In the week of the biggest game of your career you shouldn't even be running it close.
definitely....primary responsibility rests with him....but i cant help feeling most other coaches would have made it clear how disappointed they were but inspired a player to redeem themselves on the pitch...hell, have him as one of the players doing press and own it "yeah i made a mistake....and im so glad the coach and team are giving me the chance to go out there and make it up to them"
Isn't it a Snr management group decision and not just the coach(s)?

But Foster is an idiot. Even if NZ win on Saturday he still is
“What would make you think it was discipline?” said Foster when quizzed on whether Roigard had stepped out of line. “We just felt it was horses for courses for this particular game. We think Finlay has an edge defensively. I think there will be a lot of action around the ruck defensively. We have been delighted with Cam’s form and in a different type of game, it might have gone slightly differently. But this one here we have gone for that.

You wouldn't be worried about Laulala coming on and yet again giving away scrum penalties, despite the myth surrounding him being a rock at scrum time?
Because after that scrum he'll then show you the amazing attacking skills of a prop from the 80s that's quantum leaped into the game. Then round it off by making a tackle while standing up straight.

I don't actually think not picking Roigard is that big a deal... untested under high stakes, and has been shown at times to have a shaky pass.
The bigger crime is that Christie is playing, and that is a selection/preparation fuck up. Brad Weber just should be there, it is absolutely ludicrous that he isn't.

Maybe, marginally - I'd be happy for you to show me unequivocal proof though. So that would be how many less penalties and turnovers at scrum time Nepo gives, compared to the other options. Even better if you can convince me it balances out the shortcomings.

I can't wait for this game to be over and we can flush the dunny and move on. But if we manage to win I will have mixed feelings. The following week(s) will be like a slow painful death after being given a glimmer of hope from the doctor. Just plain cruel.
