I haven't watched it yet but The Fall of the House of Usher is another series from Mike Flanagan. I enjoyed both The Haunting of Hill House and The Haunting of Bly Manor so I am assuming this will be good too. A lot of the same actors appear in these including Carla.
I've never heard of those two shows. A look at his IMDB and it appears he's a horror guy, I don't watch much horror.

Hill House was fucking excellent

They are all Netflix shows. The horror isn't over the top, and their IMDb ratings are justified.

This popped up on my Netflix feed and I couldn't make out WTF it was and whether it was worth watching. Keep us updated as you go along if it holds up please.
I started this last night and got an episode and a half into it. Interesting and will persist with it.

The only one I knew of his was Midnight Mass, it's the only one I've ever seen pop up. I never look at IMDB ratings, I don't care what a bunch of idiots on the internet think about something.

and some tits.
@Kruse will be very disappointed that you buried the lead.
With all the Star Wars chitter chatter on the other thread it seems apt to point out that Mark Hamill is in this show.
He’s an actor always in work it seems but I’m fairly sure this is the first time I’ve ever stay down and watched something other than Star Wars with him in it !

You've never seen The Big Red One? It's a good war movie from the early 80s.
But yeah, hard to remember much live action stuff outside of cameos as I guess he's made the bulk of his money since the 80s via voice work.

@MN5 we started that this week too.
3 eps in, is decent enough to continue (3 eps is usually my bail point)
Yeah not really a horror, is more on the SFX side that jump scares or spine tingles like Haunting of Hill House gave.
I was wrong about Carla, she looked HAF during that party.
six episodes in, will probably finish it over the weekend.

@taniwharugby are youse talking about The Fall of the House of Usher? Trying to piece together from a long thread!
I need something new to start - recommend?

@taniwharugby said in TV Serieseseses:
@voodoo yes.
Have you watch Far North? That is worth watching.
PLenty of good stuff in this thread though, The Long Shadow, Wolf, Woman n the Wall are a few others I have watched recently that are good
I haven't seen any of those, thanks!

Yes

@voodoo Far North is a NZ one, with Temuera, based on the true story of when 500kg of meth was seized coming off 90-Mile beach.
Am 4 episodes into this, really good fun watch.
Like not having to think too deeply, thoroughly enjoying the quirky characters, the honest, the grafters, the grifters, and the quintessential kiwis - and it makes me desperately want to head back to NZ to visit the far north, where I’ve never been
Thanks for the recommendation

@voodoo also makes you wonder just how much is actually true too...I mean some crims are fucking stupid.
Some? LOL here is a reason they don't have a good job. Mostly lazy or stupid, normally both. The criminal mastermind is very much a fictional concept, the vast majority of the time.
EDIT: One of the funniest criminal mastermind things I came across was when we were doing 'exchanges' with Scotland's fast pursuit and helicopter units. Having seen the blurred-out number plates on TV, the crims came to the conclusion that this was vaseline smeared across the number plates stopping the Police units from being able to see the plate. So there was a period of several years where they would catch cars with number plates lagged in vaseline.
