Yes, top 2 of each pool + 2 extras (I guess on points diff? or repechage?). Need to thrash Kenya and ideally beat GB.

Ok, that's good news that we need to flush and move on.

Not a great start though

Joubert is having a fucking laugh. He's having a worse game than NZ.

Makes me weep with shame and anger to see the All Blacks 7s lose to Japan. They must redeem themselves by being awesome the rest of the tournament.

What is worse ... Boks losing to Japan at RWC or All Black 7s losing to Japan in Olympics? Ask big mouth Bones.

I don't see this AB Sevens team winning a medal. They looked pedestrian, unimaginative and made basic errors. Fiji were the most impressive of all the nations so far, with GB, France and SA not very far behind. Aussies were even worse than the AB.

Bad luck for SBW. Pretty sure Forbes was subbed might have worth while having s cool head on the pitch rather some young guy who thought running across field to get close to the touch line was a good idea.

Might revise my thinking about what's a success for the men 7s from making the final to getting into the 1/4's.
Was thinking that Titch was holding back in the World Series this year and bugger me the game plan at the olympics is exactly the same.

According to One News, SBW is out for up to 9 months with a partially ruptured achilles tendon. I seriously hope for him that it won't be that long.

NZ Sevens has been relatively standing still for a few years now.

When the push for sevens to be in the Olympics was in full swing, there seemed to be too many fans and administrators assuming guaranteed golds for NZ.

Forgetting that the lure of the Olympics might just kick a few other nations into gear.
