MIssed the end of the session as making pizza - who bowled well?
Jamieson bowled pretty well especially the length of time he has been out.
I would like to see him use his height a bit more.
Patel got a bit of turn apart from an over when Shanto got hold of a couple he looked threatening.Jamieson asks good questions of subcontinent batters. They aren't used to the bounce. On these pitches, not as effective, but his spell in the T20 against India was ridiculously good. If he gets some seam movment it's brutal - hopefully his body holds up!
He is a real point of difference for NZ isn’t he.
He is closest we have to a tall Australian quick bowler who can extract something out of flat pitches.
We are going to need him going forward.Arguably THE most important Black Cap once the other quicks hang up the boots. Easy to mention KW but we have other classy batsmen if he fails/doesn’t play.
Yes the attack will be lead by him hopefully he has sorted that back out.
Will it ? I like the idea of him being a monster third seamer, kind of a latter day Joel Garner that he has been until now
( of course the chances of us unearthing our equivalent of Marshall/Holding/Roberts/Croft are slim to fucken none so maybe I should stop dreaming )
……and the chances of the Windies unearthing that talent again are slimmer still…..
Yes it will give him the new ball his days of doing the dirty 3rd pace bowling position should be over.
Oh I hear that, in the extremely unlikely chance of anyone better coming up in the next wee while to take over from SBW then it makes sense that Jamieson steps in. I just love what he’s done with the ball slightly older.
The perfect thing is to promote a tall young quick who can hit the pitch and develop him as the 3rd quick. He might take some time but maybe worth it in the long run.
We try to clone another Jamieson, well as close as we can get. -

Are there any stats on whether Timmy is a worse reviewer than Shane Watson...
The team must know. That's why the poor reviewing is on them not him - but edging the ball onto pads is not ok to miss
-
Game pretty even stevens at lunch.
For the stats nerds……
KW nudges the batting average over 55.
He’s played NINETY FIVE tests.
That is EXCEPTIONAL.
In all test cricket history only THREE other guys have higher averages having played more tests…..
I mean, say all you want about Martin Crowe who was one of the best batsmen of his era……and it’s tough to compare guys who played at different times but it’s a tiny bit shy of TEN runs per innings more than Hogan could manage.
Long may his awesomeness continue.
Disclaimer: Sometimes averages don’t tell the WHOLE story…….but fuck me you’re not gonna ever convince me he’s not NZs best ever batsman by a country mile.

Nicholls run of poor scores likely to continue before a career saving ton at home late in the summer. Standard
Ravindra not batting whilst Nicholls gets dropped 5 times on the way to 50.....
This is the way.
