<p>THEN - second to last throw of the night - Carter pulls a huge one out - more than half a metre further than her previous best.</p>

<p>Leaving Val, who'd be sitting there smiling for about the last half hour, with the last throw of the nightto pull it back. She threw the third 20+ metre, but not good enough and it's another silver.</p>

<p>Well, that was tense. Brazil wins penalty shootout 8-7 after their keeper made two saves and ours only made 1. We had the chance to win it with our fifth shot but the Brazil keeper read it better. They go on to meet Sweden.</p>

<p>Don't want to sound like a NZ Rugby 7s aficionado, but some fairly unfriendly refereeing. This could have made all the difference:</p>
