He was very vocal when it all went down. Got made to look a fool when the PGA did the deal behind his back

@canefan he was, and for the most part I don't think his stance has changed, he just knows he is fighting something he can't win.

I think he got plenty wrong in his approach, but it is what it is and i feel a bit much is made of some of the cherry picked comments.

Like he also said, the fans don't care about the money, they just wanna watch the best players play golf.

He was pretty firm in his stance until Rahm defected. Then he seemed to accept it very quickly

@canefan acceptance of something being inevitable is a bit different though than him changing his opinion or views on it.

Yeah, his position was forced by the PGA.

I feel for him a bit, but then I remember he's just another golfer with 100mm+ who will probably see this balloon 3-400% now and slip back into care factor of zero.

20 year old Alabama sophomore Nick Dunlap has won the American Express PGA tour event in California. Fist amateur to win a PGA tour event since Phil Mickelson in 1991.

Last year he became the only player other than Tiger Woods to win both the U.S. Junior Amateur and U.S. Amateur.

So what does he win as an amatuer? $1.5m in pro shop credit?

Lydia also had a good win on the LPGA overnight, winning by 2 shots. Her first win for over a year.

Good week for the kiwis as Steve Alker won on the old boys tour and Kazuma Kobori on the PGA Tour of Australasia.

Foxy was going ok too but faded coming home in the final around. Could have been another pretty good finish

@JK expect he'll earn a nice sponsorship deal...

Foxy has hit some sublime shots, but putting let him down early.

Yep and tour card too, if he actually wants it right now.

2nd place getter picks up the $1.5m. Fedex points dont get passed down though.

Crazy finish in the LPGA this morning with both Lydia and Nelly making eagles on 17 and then Nelly birdieing 18 to force a play off.

Korda ending up getting the win on the second playoff hole. Lydia with a pretty poor 3 putt. Korda managing to up and down after missing the green.

Ryan Fox teeing it up at the WM Phoenix Open on Friday morning in Arizona. Hopefully he can put a solid couple of rounds together to make the cut after missing out at Torrey Pines in San Diego a couple weeks ago.

NZ Open starts today and it looks to be the best we've had for a wee while.

No Foxy but a decent field with a lot of up and coming players from both NZ and Aus, as well as a big Japanese contingent. Don't forget Steve Alker either. I bet he'd like to show up the youngsters.

I'm hoping my old mate Mike Hendry can win it as that would really make some come back story. If not then Kazuma for me. This kid is awesome to watch. Doesnt hit the ball super far but his approach shots in to greens and his touches with the putter and chipping are outstanding. Surely the next big thing in NZ golf.

Live scoring on https://nzopen.com/leaderboard/ and sky sports should have decent coverage each afternoon over the next 4 days

Not a great day for those i mentioned above. Bit of work to do for the likes of Alker to make the cut, with the cut looking likely to be under par.

Lead currently held by two Aussies Hend and Griffin at -7 but local lad (and LIV reserve) Ben Campbell is up there at -6 thanks to a nice eagle on 18.
